Queens Head — Restaurant in Borough of Swale

The bar maid was overall friendly and helpful, but the food was disappointing. Ordered a sausage and onion baguette, it arrived and there was pretty much no onions in it and I'd say around 1 and a 1/4 sausages sliced to within an inch of their lives to cover the bread. Waitress asked if everything was OK, she confirmed she would not be happy receiving that herself, offered a 10% discount on just my meal. The meal was £9, expensive for what it was in the first place, it didn't even come with chips, just a small pile of salad. A while later the waitress brings out a bowl of sausages and onions "as an appology from the kitchen, also a new bowl of chips, which looked a lot nicer than the bowl I had been served originally, but by that point I had eaten what was on my plate so shared the sausages with the table and sent the chips away. Get to the till to pay, my 10% was then downgraded to 5% because I had been sent the apology sausages from the kitchen, sending them out to say sorry to me says we messed up, not have some more food you didn't ask for and we are going to charge you for it!. Very disappointed. I wish I'd taken photos of the food but the shock of what I'd been...

Wow... We had planned to stop at a pub just up the road but they didn't have any parking so we kept on going. We found The Queens Head and what a great find it was. A warm friendly welcome followed by great service and delicious food! We had the Baked Camembert sharer, Salmon Fillet and the Steak and Kidney Pudding. All generous portions (bring your appetite) and prepared beautifully. If you're a guest at the Holiday Inn Express on the A2 we'd highly recommend The Queens Head for dinner. The only real issue was that I didn't have room left...

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with friends. Food was gorgeous, generous portions and a reasonable cost. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and extremely polite. We even asked to move area from front to back of the pub and this was no problem at all. In fact the landlady moved us herself and was extremely pleasant in the process. We have eaten here before as we are blessed to live in Boughton and have this place to stroll to and we had a very pleasant experience then too. Haven't got a bad word to say...
