Corporate Away Day
Whilst looking for venues for our annual corporate away day/communications event, we received a recommendation for the Another World Adventure Centre Halifax and it was clear from our first communication with Andrew as to why we had received the recommendation. Communication with the team is excellent and they are amazingly slick at pulling together a great away day for you based around your needs and requirements.
On arrival we were able to have breakfast in a lovely cabin setting. We held a morning session where we needed screens and projectors and somewhere for staff to be seated whilst we presented. This was accommodated within a marquee which was fabulous and well equipped with what we needed for our presentations and a First Aid training session we held.
We were lucky with the weather and the team adapted their space to take advantage of that and we held lunch outside in a lovely patio area.
The afternoon could not have been more fun, the whole team was smiling all afternoon and organisation and timing that Andrew put into the sessions was great and meant that we had a good selection of activities to keep everyone happy and interested all afternoon, with 70 staff to please it was a real success when everyone commented about what a fantastic time they had.
Andrew and his team make you feel extremely welcome and part of everything, the activities were fabulous and the space amazing and very adaptable.
We ended the day with a legendary bbq provided by Andrew and his team and it did not disappoint, great selection and flavoursome food and accommodated our various dietary requirements.
Honestly, I would not hesitate to recommend the venue for any corporate event and completely understand why we received a word of mouth recommendation. The team are great at what they do and what they provide and it means you can more of less reel off your requirements and leave all of the hard work to them – they do not make it look like it is on the day, they all look like they are having a great time too!

The adults had fun too even if fitting on the sleds was a bit of a squash. The equipment was in good condition and the course was well laid out. You could see effort had been made to keep everyone safe from coronavirus too which was good.
The only thing I'd warn about is we happened to be there when it started to rain pretty hard. We were all literally dripping wet after having finished our first activity. We came back to the tents as it was too wet to enjoy being out. We don't mind a bit of weather and had brought rain coats etc but it was pouring down. We asked if we could wait for the rain to die down a bit and were told unfortunately not. Out slot was over when it was over - use it or lose it. This despite us being the last group (so nobody was after us.) We asked about the option of coming back at a later time and were told quite bluntly that it's an outdoors centre and either to tough it out or forfeit. There was no willingness to discuss any sort of compromise. So make sure to check your weather forecast when booking. If rain is forecast, either don't book or take rain gear and a change of clothes and...

We were sent email instructions on what to do including where to park and links to videos. There were areas for used equipment to be left once used so it could be sanitised and each activity had its own box of sanitising equipment too. On to the actual activities now. It was real fun. The sledging/scooters was great. All the family had a go and found it really enjoyable (if not a little more strenuous than we had anticipated!!!). Going to the top of the hill really helps get some momentum up - if you're really not used to scooters or sledging then try going from below the cones to start with. The paintballing and archery was equally enjoyable too, really good fun and perhaps made even better by the fact I won at archery. The picnic area is nice and large, you can take a picnic or buy food when you get there and it's delivered to you! Take a ball or a frisbee etc and enjoy a play in the field before you leave. Great family fun. We will be going again and I would recommend you do....
