Ecci is really handy for us divers who don't want to travel up to Capernwray, half the distance and a bit cheaper. However it does get a bit busy with all the swimmers, walkers, bikers etc. However the business has to thrive so one has to accept and share. What comes with more people is good for business but can be at the expense of a peaceful days diving. Parking, queing in cafe, etc. At £15 year membership and £15 a days diving, it's slightly and only slightly cheaper than their rival Capernwray. Cheaper because it is smaller, offers less for the Diver in the water and the viz is usually very bad. Whilst on the phone attempting to discuss membership renewal, the conversation was a bit garbled, confusing and I got no sense out of the person on the end of the phone. They recommended I go to Capernwray where I would pay a lot more which is incorrect. It is slightly more but you get better facilities, better diving experiences and the viz is usually pretty good. Read moreThe owner needs to work on his customer service and general moodiness. He's either off-putting or quite frankly aggressive. The toilet / shower facilities are woeful. The swim coach guy advertises Ice Mile events - yes, cold, yes a mile....Google it guys, this is NOT an Ice Mile Swim. Water Safety measures - below par compared to other sites and 100% reliant on the users to 'police' self snd others. The cafe staff and the general manager Andy are very friendly. The cafe cakes etc are good. The terrace can be a lovely sun trap. Lots of parking spaces....

Wow, visibility is up by 100% and any thing kicked up from the bottom is sinking straight away making it a much more enjoyable dive Well done guys, well worth the effort and expense you've invested, this is the differance for us as to wether make the extra hours drive at capers or to come here and you've got our vote Well done again...
