I have been a customer of Morrisons at Gilmerton for seven years now. My wife and I were always extremely satisfied with the quality of the goods in the shop and best customer service with friendly and helpful staff. Although, we are not impressed by the situation that happened about an hour ago. I was trying to buy a bottle of wine and unfortunately the sale was refused because of not having an ID with me which is understandable (despite me being 32). I made a trip home (driving!) specifically to get my ID and when got back to purchase it again, the member of staff refused to sell it suggesting 'I had too much to drink'. While understanding the rules of challenge 25 and the right of the member of staff not to sell alcohol the point of challenge 25 was completely missed. In addition to that, the priority of good quality customer service skills went completely out the window. I can truly say that I have never been more disappointed but fortunately ALDI near by was able to sell me a bottle of wine without any issues. Sad to say 0%...
Read moreIt's been a while since going in to this shop and it is rapidly going downhill since change in management over the last couple of years. Shopped last night (27/2) there was no bags or, bags for life. No milk and lack of bread. Empty shelves had a millimetre of dust and there was a smell omitting from the pet food aisle. Waited for six mins before a member of staff would attend to flashing light at self serve checkout, even although there was eight members of staff loitering around a checkout at food court entrance. Highlighted my concerns to member of staff that did attend to the flashing light however, she just shrugged her shoulders and asked me what I wanted her to do about it. My response was "get it sorted". Very poor compared to a couple of years ago. My advice to anyone about this place is to shop at Aldi, Iceland or Lidl which are all within walking distance...
Read morePROS: Well stocked shop and nice staff. Decent prices and when the music’s on it’s good quality, nothing commercial.
CONS: I spoke to the store manager who had contacted me as I have a few issues such as crackling music sound in the shop and too much litter around the shop and the neighbourhood area. She confimed the speakers needed to be fixed so hopefully that will happen soon. Regarding the litter she contacted the council and couple of charities that have put clothes bins near Morrisons, but none of them seem to care enough about clothes being dumped everywhere but the bins or the excessive litter, although some of if it’s due to the winds. She said that she will keep pushing for action, but I feel for her, as the team are not responsible for the mess outside Morrisons. I contacted the Morrisons headquarters, but they only sent my query...
