A week back I visited this place with friends. This is the first beach I have visited is muddy and not suitable for swimming. However we dipped ourself inside the water and played with beach ball. It was lovely experience seeing the water resting on the sand beach. Went for long walk along the water and collected lot of shells. I don't recommend to visit this one if you are visiting with families as water is muddy. We spotted Jelly fishes there. Overall it's the nature, water and long walks you enjoy there. Thanks 👍

Always nice to go and spend a couple of hours here. Especially when the tide is out and you can walk on the sand bars. Very peaceful.

I'd like to say thank you for such an unspoiled landscape. As a Londoner it took me a while to 'decompress' as my family and I set up camp. This is quite different from a manicured beach experience you may get at places like Brighton which, for me, is a good thing. Along the perimeter beach huts have been erected standing as if on guard. If you plan to stay a while you may want to book one of these for the day, indeed, I'd advise it. Apart from that, it's just you and nature.

Very enjoyable day spent on West Mersea. Clean and friendly environment. There was an Open Studios' event over this weekend (to 2 June 2019), so we walked about half the length of West Mersea, visiting various artists in the their studios, displaying their photography, paintings, illustrations and printmaking/etching. Walked back on the beach for part of the way, until we wanted some refreshments. Stopped off for a latte and tea with some donuts. This fuelled the rest of our walk...
