The view from the top is incredible; you can see all over the land and even the stone circle in the distance. To get up the rocks is quite easy.

There are a few ways up around the back which I think is an easy route to walk up rather than go up the front.

It is a great place to visit. It was a little busy when I was there on a Thursday afternoon.

There is no proper parking, except for a small layby on the road called

(Cratcliffe Parking Area) on the B5056 road.

The parking area, which fits about 8 cars. The rocks are about a 15-minute walk from the layby on the road.

Directions Walk from the road until you reach the cattle grid (See Photos). Follow the path up the cattle grid and there is a two gates.

The gate on the left leads to the Robin Hood Stride rocks and the stone circles, and the gate on the right leads to the hermit cave.

The two are not that far apart, to be honest, from each other, but the directions will save you a...

My Mrs loves a walk, and fortunately so do I. Just be aware there’s a lot of UP to get here but it’s well worth the effort. No scrambling required just a bit of careful sure footedness. The views are breathtaking and well worth the admission, what admission! I’m kidding of course, it’s free to roam all around. We got here via the bus from Matlock to a nearby village and then walked. Fortunately it wasn’t busy at all when we went so lots of picture...

Went today and even though it took me a while to climb up it, as I'm terrible at climbing anything, it was definitely worth it as the views were fantastic and could see for miles out. The area is popular with everyone of all ages and you can spend as long as you want here as there is no time limit and it is free to see and have an adventure. There is also lots of old graffiti which has been etched...

Bit of a hair-raising drive to get up here with lots of single-lane blind curves. If you survive you'll find parking to be challenging, too. The good news: the stone circle is very interesting and authentic. I wonder what all the pockmarks are on the back side of the northern-most stone? Short walk from the stone circle to the Stride itself, which looks to be an interesting puzzle. We had a good hour here.
