Two Drifters Distillery — Local services in East Devon

I placed an online order for a sample pack of 24 beers from Two Drifters Brewery. There are four kinds; Drifters Gold, Drifters Sunrise, Drifters Windmill & Drifters Storm.

Compared to more traditional beers these are all very modern, light and refreshing and they vary in alcohol content.

I gave each one 5/5 except for Drifters Sunrise which I gave 3/5 (but I drank it all). I am told that Sunrise (which has an interesting hint of peach) is an acquired taste, but once acquired it can become an obsession.

These beers have a hint of ‘haze’ being unfiltered and full of hops (the modern way) but it is not off-putting and intensifies the flavour. The hops used are from the USA, France and Poland.

The packaging is very attractive and the ordering process on the website was as smooth as silk.

Delivery by DPD was spot on as usual.

My Fiancé and I did the Distillery tour yesterday and we enjoyed tasting the various rums. The tour itself was very informative and interesting talking through the whole process from start to finish. They are very passionate about their work and in particular about being carbon neutral. Every process is about helping the environment and the end product is high quality tasting rum. We purchased two bottles and the spiced sauce to take home. This was a birthday gift for me and to be honest I had never heard of the company before this. So I was working in the area and asked if I could use their property as a test for what I was doing. Whilst there the (very knowledgeable) chap explained how the process worked. Wow really interesting. My colleague and I tried a little sampler and I bought a bottle of the spiced rum. Lovely taste to it , I'm no expert at all, but I did pair it with some dark chocolate (just rum with a couple of bits of ice). Wow its delicious, totally recommend to anyone.
