Note parking is free for national trust members, free for 2 hours and only £2 for all day for others which I feel is really good value nowadays and the new parking meter still takes cash. Hoorah for common sense. The walk along the new paths and boardwalks is easy going and wheel friendly. I think they will be encouraging you to put dogs on leads as the area is going to be attracting lots of birds and other wildlife. I’m all for change and progress and I know to achieve this you have to do the work but we were gutted when we turned up here in March because it’s one massive building site looking like the surface of the moon. We used to love to walk the 2 mile or so down the trail. Surely the end goal could have been achieved in stages or even leaving the existing footpath near the sea bank intact instead of it being completely fenced off. The temporary cafe has disappeared and there is a lack of information on the project. Come on National Trust, we support your endeavour but a little thought would have helped.
