A great place to be .. peaceful...a calming environment and the wildlife coming back to the newly developed site.. always something to photograph... can't wait till we get some decent rain and the ponds fill up ... I call this my happy place because it makes me feel so relaxed and able to hear the songs of mother nature ( the birds etc ) ... All the hard work by all definitely paid off .. Thankyou for creating the wet lands etc

Well done National Trust for taking something that could have just been left as waste land and turning it into a lovely nature reserve and something for the public to enjoy. There was a number of good little nature related games to keep the kids interested and some great views from one of the old raised tee at the far end of the field. We didn’t try the tea room but certainly will be returning.

A new Nature reserve due to be finished in 2026 by the National Trust. You can really see what a great reserve this can become. Easy gravelled paths to walk along with bridges and bird hides. Toilets at both ends of the reserve and a cafe at one end but another one due in 2026. Easy free parking for National Trust members. Dogs allowed but on a short lead.

Getting there slowly, but when its finished it should be lovely. Note parking is free for national trust members, free for 2 hours and only £2 for all day for others which I feel is really good value nowadays and the new parking meter still takes cash. Hoorah for common sense. The walk along the new paths and boardwalks is easy going and wheel friendly. I think they will be encouraging you to put dogs on leads as the area is going to be attracting lots of birds and other wildlife. The cafe at Hutoft car terrace is a decent place to get a meal and the view from the rooftop is lovely. You can walk back via the coastal path to make it a nice round walk of about an hour without...

Shocked!!! I’m all for change and progress and I know to achieve this you have to do the work but we were gutted when we turned up here in March because it’s one massive building site looking like the surface of the moon. We used to love to walk the 2 mile or so down the trail. Surely the end goal could have been achieved in stages or even leaving the existing footpath near the sea bank intact instead of it being completely fenced off. The temporary cafe has disappeared and there is a lack of information on the project. Come on National Trust, we support your endeavour but a little thought would have helped. Can’t see this being accessible...

This is a sample of what is seen around NT sandilands, all photographs were taken in and around sandilands at this early stage of the NT project on the east coast ,although there is a shortage of water around the site there is still plenty to see ,go with a pair of binoculars and a good camera and enjoy the start of a new era within the national trusts new venture,I am nothing to do with the trust this is completely a review of what I see and believe what a good job is being done here ,so enjoy as I have on this...
