A stoney beach, we enjoyed walking it and collecting sea glass as a family to make an ornament, Wishers sells nice food in take away boxes however the coffee I believe is powdered if that bothers you! Good sized children's park. Impressive sized ice creams from twenty man's (?) Ice cream parlor that also sells tons of sweets, gifts and basic items even massive tubs of fudge (1kg+), the pub next door sold nice food inside feels like back in the day Allonby was a busy glorious resort that's fell on hard times which is a shame but the staff were great and as I mentioned the food was good...

Once there, ample free parking, within a short walk to the beach. There's some picnic benches on the green, a short walk over the sand hills to access the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach. This stretch of coastline, including the beach, from Maryport golf clun to Allonby, has been assigned the highest protection available from the UK Gov't. There are only 3 'Highly Protected Area' sites and the other 2 are not on the UK mainland. It is a 'shallow' beach so watch out for the tide coming in and cutting you off.
