We were so lucky with the weather on the day we did the hike up to Holme Fell. We started at Yew Tree Tarn. There's a lay by with free parking for about 5 cars as with most places it's best to get there early to get a spot. We walked round the tarn and then up through the woods. The views were spectacular and the weather perfect. When we reached Holme Fell we decided to stay up and walk round the different crags and spent another few hours just walking admiring the view. Read moreQuite boggy and not as enjoyable as other fells (but I was tired and moody as I had just come from climbing Black Fell and had managed to get a wet bum from falling in a stream at the old reservoir before the climb 🤦) came down a different way which was steeper and did involve some bum shuffling/clambering which was quite fun!
