We were so lucky with the weather on the day we did the hike up to Holme Fell. We started at Yew Tree Tarn. There's a lay by with free parking for about 5 cars as with most places it's best to get there early to get a spot. We walked round the tarn and then up through the woods. The views were spectacular and the weather perfect. When we reached Holme Fell we decided to stay up and walk round the different crags and spent another few hours just walking admiring the view. My favourite so far of the smaller Wainwrights.

You can walk this from a variety of different places and plenty of paths lead to the top Parked in Yew Tree Tarn, free parking in lay by next to the dam for about 5 cars Walk around the dam, then a path on the left leads up through the woods, fairly steep in places but easy to follow On top there are lots of paths to the many different Crags, with great views of surrounding countryside

One of the smaller wanwrights, multiple routes up and can easily be included into a circular walk with plenty of viewpoints to check out. There is two viewpoints at the top, the second is slightly lower then the main point and also being the better view 😀

Quite boggy and not as enjoyable as other fells (but I was tired and moody as I had just come from climbing Black Fell and had managed to get a wet bum from falling in a stream at the old reservoir before the climb 🤦) came down a different way which was steeper and did involve some bum shuffling/clambering which was quite fun! Weather was miserable so views weren't brilliant but probably lovely...
