We were on our way to Loch Lomond and were looking for a quick bite to eat when we discovered this local treasure. We came for food, but you can also pay a fee to fish here for nice sized trout and other fish to take home with you. They even rent poles. Anyway, we met the owner CC, a most kind-hearted lady with a delightful sense of humor, and she gave us a menu. The offerings were simple, but tasty. Hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, Scoth pies, etc, all served with various sides from fries to traditional beans. We opted for the Scotch pie with fries/chips, and beans. Everything was tasty and freshly made. Now, after you eat your main here, you simply MUST try the cakes being offered. We had the lemon drizzle and the carrot cake, both of which were some of the best cakes we have eaten in quite some time. The atmosphere was so peaceful, and right outside was the large fishing pond. People were coming and going with some beautiful fish, and CC seemed to know everyone by name, not to mention displaying a quick memory for the names of new acquaintances such as ourselves. For two Americans who literally stumbled upon this place, we were quite happy with our experience here. Thank you CC for a lovely lunch as well as cake and coffee! Cheers from Brad and Brian...

Hi Folks you won't find cheaper fishing anywhere else as it's £18per 4 hours on a stalked lake both fly and bait . Can also hire rods and reels. They have bait and also sells slmple food too, crisps, chocolate plus assorted other edibles not to forget soft drinks too. I was there today liked it that much I'll be back up tomorrow so peaceful and relaxing and the staff bloke called Jack very helpful and accomodating . Not Just with disabled people which it's Great for as I'm in a wheelchair and had no problems with anything. If I did the bloke called Jack was there to ease the way. Lovely scenery and nice clientele, as almost everyone was kind and pleasant towards myself Which isn't always the case when your in a wheelchair. Nope I don't feel sorry for myself or my situation just try to get on with my life as hassle free as possible and at the Carbeth Fisheries I haven't been as relaxed as today is ln years that's why I'll be back there tomorrow. I'll post some photo's that way Folks can make up there own minds. Hopefully this will help and appeal to like minded Folks out there. ALL the best to you all and enjoy your...

I am a care worker and one of the guys I support likes fishing and never really caught anything....so I thought....I will take him to Carbeth fishery where I have caught fish every time I've been there (although I haven't been for around 5 years)....well...he paid his £15 and caught....nothing...zilch....zero.....it's a big difference from what it used to be (imho). It's just that it cost this guy a lot of money out of his meager rations..(I had to persuade his mum to part with that amount of money...by promising at least one fish....my bad I suppose)..yet he fished with no result....and going back to his mum to say he hadn't caught anything.... .....when catching a fish would have been the biggest news in this guys world for the next year.....I just thought it would be the place to help him out....I'll take him...

We stumbled upon this lovely place while searching for a restroom. It was unexpectedly beautiful, and although it was early in the morning and they don't typically serve soup until later in the afternoon, the cafe manager, CC, generously prepared us a delicious roast pepper and tomato soup. She was also kind enough to provide us with recommendations for places to visit in Scotland. She was incredibly kind and helpful. It's also a charming spot for fishing. We attempted to fish, but unfortunately, we were unsuccessful. We will definitely return. Thank you, CC.
