I wanted a special bottle of single malt whisky for special occasions. I searched the web looking for the best rated. Dalmore 12 years was that bottle. Whisky is great - wide variety of sherry cask aged scotches. No peated whiskies but they do well even if you prefer those like myself. The distillery itself was a let-down though. Service is cold and uninviting, and they don't offer free or even cheap tastings. Tiny drams run 2 or 5 pounds per piece, with most whiskies being 5. Overall not one of our favorites...

It's a nice whisky but the visitor center is not very interesting. It's small so it feels crowded when 5 people are around. And you have the regular selection and no miniature bottles. And if you want to taste something it's 5£. I've seen better visitor centers and I don't like the fact that you have to pay for ever sip to try...
