I don't think the official Dalmore Farm Shop website quite does the venue justice. As well as the indoor 'farm shop' which sells most things you'd find in any up market garden centre, there's also a bright and airy restaurant/café with options to be seated outside. The food we ordered was lovely (panini and a full breakfast) while being more than reasonably priced. I'd say they were cheaper than Dobbies surprisingly and Dobbies certainly don't have wee chickens roaming around between your feet as you eat which added to the charm. The real star of the attraction for us however was the outdoor Zoo area, containing everything from Pigs, sheep, multiple breeds of chicken, donkeys, alpaca and goats which were more than happy to scream in your direction in hope of food (nothing is to be fed by visitors however) Our Daughter loved their time there and we'll certainly be visiting again.

This is an excellent farm shop and restaurant that is easy to find with a number of car parking spaces available. The premises are large and filled with various items that are in vogue. The food area presents a good range of locally sourced products as well as Scottish produced items in the general isle area. Additionally the facilities include a cafeteria/restaurant and toilets separate from the well spaced shopping isles. Outside the main hall entrance is a small area of plants, trees and shrubs to browse. The staff were very polite, knowledgeable and friendly and helped make our experience that more pleasing. I found the whole area a joy to walk around and thoroughly recommended, worth more than the five stars available.

Went here for lunch. Lovely shop, lots of different things, even wool and material. Food area had produce from lots of different bakery's. Cafe decent size lots of seating outside. Plenty staff on. Good menu choices and specials board. Prices reasonable. Loaded fries were tasty, Cakes on offer all looked fantastic. Black forest cake was light, fluffy and scrummy. Banana and walnut cake was a tad dry. Coffee was hot and good. Only criticism is no prices for the cakes, that I saw. Definitely be back. Was back in and had maybe the best cheese scone I have ever had. My sister had steak pie and it was literally bubbling in its dish. Also adored the chicks, ducklings and gosling in the containers just as you enter.

3rd visit today, first and second were not good, but everywhere can have off days, so reserved judgement until now. Arrived around 14.00, hoping to have missed the lunchtime rush. The restaurant was still full on arrival, but tables were clearing as we waited for our food. So pressure on the kitchen was easing. However, we still had an abnormally long wait for our food, and when it arrived the loaded fries were baked together by the cheese that had gone hard, and the fries were barely lukewarm, despite the waitresses warning that the plate was too hot to touch. Obviously prepared and left laying around too long, waiting to be brought to the table. The other serving was a chicken wrap. Disappointing effort as well. Not value for money, and equally as bad as our first 2 visits. Despite this, we went on to try the cakes and coffee. After another excruciatingly long wait, even though the place was less than half full now. The lemon drizzle cake was stale, dry with very little citrus flavour. But to top it all, the Victoria sponge I ordered was just as stale and dry, and the 3 raspberries on top were black, and mouldy! I took the offending article to the lady at the till. Exclaimed my disgust at being served mouldy food. She barely seemed interested, asked if I wanted something else instead, and didn't even offer a refund. Needless to say, 3 strikes and we're out. Poor service, long wait times for poor quality, and rotten, mouldy produce. We won't be back.

Carolyn, Instead of lying about the rotten, stale, mouldy food served up to your customers, you'd be better focusing on apologies, and fixing where you, and your staff are blatantly failing. As for the raspberries, it wasn't a small black imperfection on one berry. Both were black on one side, and eaten away with the fungus. I'm only sorry I hadn't taken an image to refute your...

What a beautiful place this is – both the store and the restaurant really stand out. The restaurant serves absolutely delicious food, with such a wide variety that it feels like there’s something for everyone, no matter what you’re in the mood for. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The store itself is just as impressive, filled with an incredible selection of food items and unique gifts. It’s one of those places where you keep spotting new things as you walk around, and it’s hard to leave empty-handed.

It does get busy, especially around mealtimes, but to me that just shows how popular and well-loved it is. The atmosphere is lively rather than overwhelming, and the staff handle it brilliantly – they’re attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. Another lovely touch is the animals on the grounds. It’s such a nice addition, especially for families with children, who can enjoy a walk around to see them after a meal.

What really stood out to me was the overall value. The quality of the food in the restaurant is second to none, and the pricing in the store is very fair considering the range and quality on offer. It’s rare to find a place that combines excellent food, shopping, and a family-friendly atmosphere so seamlessly. This is definitely somewhere I’d recommend to anyone – whether you’re looking for a great meal, a unique shopping experience, or simply a lovely day out.

So our first visit. Decided on a road trip north, seen the two big cruise ships were in so went round for a nosey and passed dalmore farm. Suggested to hubby to go for lunch......

WOW. Great atmosphere. Lovely quaint little modern farm shop. Stunning views from the restaurant.

We went to the restaurant after having a look in the little shop area and we were greeted with a huge smile and the waitress explained what to do..blown away with how friendly she was. Anyway the food was absolutely gorgeous. Huge portion and so much flavour. I had the pulled pork wrap and wow my taste buds were dancing happily. My hubby had the New York deli and he ordered a side of loaded fries to go with it. Our faces when we seen the portion sizes........was overwhelmed by how much food there was but when it tastes this good you gotta give it your all.

We were eyeing up the deserts too especially the battenburg cheesecake but just could not squeeze any more food into our expanding stomachs. We were planning on maybe getting some to takeaway but were not sure if this was even an option.....

We bought some cheese from the shop...the minger....great name, smelly cheese, can't wait to eat it and we also got another brie of some sort. Bought oatcakes too, actual ones with no palm oil or anything refined, just good old fashioned real ingredients.

We will definitely be back here.......for that battenburg...
