Had a great time riding here, the trails are clearly well thought out, a fair bit of climbing up fire road some descent down it to which felt like a shame, but I assume there are always plans for upgrades when the time and money allows. we did the red loop.

The signs need updating as we were confused which red loop to go (from what we read there is only one red loop?) as you have the slightly off red/orange sign and the very red sign, turns out it was the slightly off red sign that showed us our route. Some of the signs are quite hidden between trees etc.

Overall the runs were great, the estimate time was pretty close we took 2h 20mins around it and I'm not super fit. Would deffo come again, loved the change between riding in the forest and riding on moors and mountain. They've got some bridges some stone paths, and the first climb thru the forest was beautiful (and tiring)

We picked a very muddy day to ride and had no issues with any of the track. Just pack a change of clothes and wear socks that are warm...

what a nice place to visit we had a very pleasant and easy walk there are a couple to chose from you can go on go ape and swing from tree to tree kids will love it take some food and have a picnic or eat and drink outside the coffee shop look out for the wildlife and well behaved dogs are allowed to run free if they are not then advisable to keep them on a lead most of all when your all done there is a nice gift shop to take something home to remember your trip there are many roads to the forest and you will see a sharp bend in the road and you can cross a bridge we stopped and looked down was a wide river going fast and you could see under the bridge more amazing...

Hired mountain bikes, which was easy enough. The bike hire people were really helpful.

Forestry England map didn't really indicate the elevation of the trails though and they were mainly uphill. Sadly made it a very difficult cycle. Had we known, we would have considered ebikes instead. However the views were great. Used the cafƩ at the end for drinks and cakes and seemed reasonable enough.

Our biggest shock was the car park at £11 for about 3 hours! All day was only £12. Forestry England probably need to look at this if they want people to keep visiting. Compared to Wales where it's...

A beautiful walk with dog and elderly relatives who used a tramper to get around and see the Forrest. Lovely welcome from the lady working in the visitors centre (sorry I didn’t quite catch your name but you were working on 6/10/23). It took us a little longer than 3 hours to walk the tramper route as we wanted to stop and take pictures etc. Very impressed. Beautiful rivers and streams flowing through. Perfect on a rainy day as it provides a little bit of shelter. Dog loved it and it was nice to be able to have him off lead. Only saw 3 or other people on the walk. Can’t recommend enough!

I was stupid enough to think the clear signage for the possible destinations through the ā€œIKEA-styleā€ entrance in the visitor centre would continue up in the hills! How wrong I was. To get to Carron Crag you have to fathom out the markers… which I had forgotten which I should be following by the time I got to the base of the hill. None of these markers have direction arrows on btw. Fortunately I had a 25000:1 paper map and google maps so I was able to find my way in the end but I had assumed this great signage at the start would carry on. It did not.
