Read moreLots of style, little substance. We have been to RH several times. It's a beautiful location, wonderfully presented, and a feast for the eyes. They also provide F&B and this is where, sadly, it all goes horribly wrong.
The Orangery is a beautiful dining space, and I would not mind paying the high prices if the food was worth it: it is not. Neither is the service up to much.
We also took some friends to Loggia a few weeks ago: create pizza, poor service, only recovered by the excellent lady in charge.
On our last visit we were told, with some gusto, about the new F&B offering 'The Conservatory' and were keen to book. With a confirmation sent a few days later to my mobile, we turned up with great enthusiasm only to be told on arrival that it was not open and they did not know when it would open. These things happen, but you would think that having a confirmed booking on via text that someone might have bothered to tell us it was not open.
What was most disappointing was when we arrived [disappointed] nobody appeared to give a damn. The concierge said they would 'look into it' but then wandered off and we have heard nothing since.
Great venue. Awful service. Go for the experience; stay away for the food...
Read moreI have loved RH/Restoration Hardware ever since I first encountered the brand as an exchange student in California 20 years ago. It has been through many changes and transformations since then, and so it was with eager anticipation that I visited their European Cotswolds flagship a couple of summers ago. I’ve popped in regularly since then whenever I am in the area.
My two recent visits this summer have been a complete joy. On both occasions I was greeted and looked-after by the incredibly charming Emma who was, quite simply, an absolute joy. All the rooms are so beautifully curated and exploring round is such a treat.
As with all US brands, it is the outstanding service that really stands out. If you love stunning interiors and the chance to stroll round a beautifully manicured and exquisitely refurbished stately home to up-to-date beats with a stylish wine bar, tea salon, juice bar, pizzeria and restaurant you will love the experience at RH England. The house and grounds have been restored so sensitively and immaculately; it’s just the most pleasurable way for the discerning to spend an afternoon or evening catching up on some e-mails and enjoying some delicious...
