I really like going here but the cafe is getting worse…Staff don’t listen! Coffee is alway far too hot, with burnt milk, even when you ask for it to be made cooler, many members of staff have their fingers in their eyes, rubbing their noses, biting their nails and I’ve even witnessed one blowing their nose and not washing their hands. Major hygiene issue there. I no longer buy food as my order has been wrong the past 6 times and it’s cheap and nasty ingredients. One woman (Rita) is alway lovely, always helpful and she is an asset to this place. The younger girls should take a leaf out of her book! They’re too busy talking and forgetting they’re at work and talking about “badasses”! They have no communication skills, they don’t even say “hello” when serving and never smile! Especially the tall blonde girl, she has no customer service skills whatsoever and looks like she can’t be bothered being there. I was a sales trainer and a health and hygiene officer for a large blue chip company and there are serious training issue in this place, hygiene and customer care…The manager needs trained too, she’s too busy waltzing around and have long conversations with people whilst there are massive queues and very little staff! I’ve yet to see her clean a table or pick an order up! She stood and let a toast order go cold because she was chatting, but looked up when the bell was rung, she just ignored it, the toast was still served to the customer after sitting for around 10 minutes! Stone cold…Not acceptable at all. The garden shop is such a lovely place to be with customer focused staff, and this cafe is letting...
Read moreHad a lovely lunch today with a friend and our kids but then it all went a bit sour… As I was just about to leave a member of staff from the till approached me and abruptly told me where the baby change was. I smiled and said yes I know I used it with my son prior to our lunch being served. She repeated it again and pointed in the direction of the baby change and I reiterated that I know where it is and had already used the facilities. Her response was you don’t change baby’s at the table or use the chairs to change them in here you use the baby change! I was absolutely mortified as I had not changed my sons nappy at the table I had placed him on a chair to get his knitted pramsuit on before placing him back in his pram. He’s a young baby therefore he needs to be laid flat to get into outdoor clothing. He was FULLY clothed and not a nappy or any skin in sight. At no point during the lunch was my sons lower half exposed to a cafe full of people he was fully clothed and sat on my knee for the duration of the visit.
I did address this issue with another member of staff and suggested that they learn how to approach customers appropriately with potentially sensitive subjects. An apology would...
Read moreRoukenglen is one of the best parks we've visited with kids in Glasgow area. The glen with its paths, river and few waterfall is shaded but little explorers always find something new and interesting around. Duck pond at the top of the park is quite small, there are benches around it and a coffee bar/ restaurant which serves good food. Walled garden is ideal for those seeking some peace. There is also wildlife area with water features, logs and manmade shelters for birds, bugs, hedgehogs etc. Playground was recently extended. It has attractions for toddlers and older children, has rubberised surface, climbing walls, ropes, slides, houses, swings, musical instruments. There is a visitors centre and toilets right next to the play park. The park has walking paths suitable for prams or wheelchairs, park gym machines. Skate park is one area we haven't used yet. Access to the park is easy by busses from many directions. There is big free car parking in front of the garden centre. More parking is available near other entrances...
