After an aborted trip to Greenbank gardens cos it was closed🥺 We adopted Plan B and high tailed it to Rouken Glen and the delightful Boathouse restaurant which was not open last time. The restaurant is a bright, airy, pleasant place with a welcoming atmosphere. Cakes, lemon Merigue pie, and Bananaand date loaf were so good they were hastily scoffed before i remembered that i'd forgotten to take pics of them😱 Special thanks to our lovely friendly, very attractive blonde waitress who greeted us with kind words and a smile. A nice change from frequent, dour, i am bored with this job, faces☹ She was so nice,I offered to take her on an all expenses paid Carribean Cruise( Dream On) Unfortunately, she thought I was kidding🙊😂 After a walk around the pond and Waterfall, this is a great place for Coffee repost and Blonde fantasies🤪 Welcome return today. Had a wonderful Pastrami Deli bag with melted cheese. Worthy of note during summer cafe is open till 6pm.😏

We recently had a family get together at the duck pond Rouken Glen Park and decided to have lunch in The Boathouse. There were 7 of us in the party and though the place was really busy it was not long till they found a table for us. Right from the start the staff were more than helpful showing patience as we decided what we were having to eat. Having three kids in our party meant that this took a wee bit longer. The food and drink did not take long to be served up to us and we all enjoyed what we had on our plates. My photo does not do justice to the meal I had, as there is a space on the plate, but there was a bowl of chips on the side and both were first class. The macaroni is among the best I have tasted. Overall and excellent visit, will definitely be popping in on our next visit. 10 out of 10 to both food and staff.

Iv been to the Boathouse several times and loved it but I had to review it this time, I work near by so it is convenient to pop in for lunch. I ordered from the window to which a lovely young girl with good manners and a kind attitude served me and answered a couple of questions, she took my order of Korean chicken and rice with a can of Irn Bru for an easy transaction. I waited roughly 15 minutes for my food which is fairly quick considering they are running the restaurant at the same time. It came to £10.50 and for the portion and taste it’s perfectly priced. Chicken was crispy yet juicy, the sauce was sweet and spicy, the rice was fluffy and the presentation was on point as seen below. Can’t recommend eating here enough, hope you’re all well guys. Shaun

We ordered a vegetarian breakfast and were not told that they didn’t have any vegetarian sausages (we were given a lame excuse for not having them). A Friend went here 1 week ago and had the full Veg option. All we got was tomatoes, mushrooms, vegetarian haggis, 2 triangular scones And small piece of sourdough bread (wife got 2 cold small pieces of white bread) the reconstituted scrambled egg was tasteless rubber. Cost was still too expensive £7.75 each (after I explained to waiter that cannot charge same as non-vegetarian option) Totally underwhelming experience. We didn’t finish our food even though we were very hungry. The cafe has gone downhill (not sure if its changed hands) Peppermint tea was ok but expensive. Coffee was fine. They don’t do baked potatoes anymore. For vegetarians it’s terrible options. For meat eaters it’s expensive options. They get people coming As not much option...

Having visited for the first time today, I cannot fault the service and surroundings. Impressed by the cleanliness which is usually the first thing I look at. As this was a client meeting, we only had drinks but as I only drink Earl Grey it's quite often hit or miss. One of the nicest Earl Greys I've had in a while. The service we received from Julie and Liesel was second to none. They went above and beyond. Julie was kind enough to seat us in a corner to offer maximum privacy for our meeting and took the time to chat before my client arrived. Cannot fault the staff and can't wait to go back again to try the food which all looked lovely from what I saw being served around me. Again, thank you for the warm welcome, and I'm so glad I now have a place to go which will allow me to support a small local business rather than large, impersonal franchises who write your name on a...
