We waited an hour and a half for our food to arrive. While we were waiting patiently for our food, it approached closing time, so the owner decided to tell us he would keep the restaurant open for us - although he implied that we were making him forcibly stay open. It was a pre-booking so he was expecting us, he even asked us beforehand what we would be likely to order.
The food arrived, the portions were tiny, some parts of the meal were missing components - the owner substituted the lack of meat in the food with a sausage (he told us he had done this).
An elderly couple entered the restaurant and although the café was quite busy, he turned them away - he didn't want them to spoil his groovy image. As they left, the elderly gentleman knocked over a glass but didn't say sorry (it's a very cramped café, the man was elderly and didn't realise). The owner was furious and shouted at him as they left, in front of the customers. Embarrassing!
The owner is false, friendly to your face but only concerned about his bank balance and his image. He offered us sweets at the end, which we thought were on the house, as he had made us wait an age, but he quickly added them to the bill.
When we left, we went to Waitrose near Hanger Lane, because we were still hungry. A positive: the mint...
Read moreVery disappointed as I was told this is the only Tunisian restaurant in London and it is the best and that we would be looked after.
We went to break out fast in the month of Ramadan. We looked at the general menu and we were told that there was a special iftar menu and all we had to do was to choose from the meat or chicken choice.
We asked to see the menu and we were told it's not been printed out. So we just made a choice. We waited and received 2 dates each. What could only be called a child size portion of soup. Small basket of bread. 1 brick each with a slice of lemon each. They didn't have correct drinks so we received the smallest glass filled half way with some juice. A bottle of water. The food was not very flavourful and was not the best.
I actually feel like I have been robbed as our bill came over £60 which actually could be a week's worth of food shopping for my entire family. We were not satisfied, fulfilled and definitely not happy with service or the overall experience.
A total rip off and I would not recommend or ever go there again.
Couldn't sleep because I was fuming at the entire experience and the thought of having spent soon much money on nothing.
Very sad. A big...
Read moreEmailed to ask for a traditional dish my Tunisian friends told me about. The response was prompt, Great communications, never waited long for a reply. The place is very close to Ealing Broadway station. I was greeted well by the young man/ owner manning the restaurant. As for the dish, the poached egg is delightful and so is the squeeze of harissa in different part of the container, mouth watering l, well made contents however there should be more Tuna and olives 😉.. preferably green olives. The packaging is beautiful, it shows great sense of etiquette & taste from the young manager and his helper. However I would have loved for the portion to be bigger thus reflecting the price tag which £7.50 for a small container is a bit much .. I paid £15 for the two pots hence the 4 stars I would say £5.50 should have been the price based on the capacity! I hope you guys at Sidi Bou will review your pricing structure, am sure you will get more busy… also please display a prominent menu with ingredients and pictures of the true content/dish But all in all a great experience and would deffo order the same again and recommend...
