Glaze Grill & Lounge — Local services in Hertsmere

I visited Glaze recently for the first time after it was recommended by a friend. I am so glad that I did, as it didn't just deliver, but it surpassed our expectations. I can't fault the experience at all.

Firstly the location is stunning. It is tucked away on lovely grounds which make for lovely photo opportunities. Then when you get inside you have the outdoor patio/terrace area which offers stunning views of London where you can see iconic landmarks such as Wembley Arch and the Shard.

I had the chicken butterfly and it was succulent and juicy and not overcooked or dry which is often the fear when ordering a chicken based dish. But what I liked most about it was, it tasted healthy and clean yet flavoursome. I also had a strawberry daiquiri which again was not too sweet/syrupy. It complimented my butterfly beautifully.

Finally, my favourite course.... dessert. It did not disappoint. I had their new Dubai chocolate dessert and the only thing I did not like was that I had to share it with my husband! 😂 It was chocolatey, crunchy and not too sweet again.

Service and hospitality were on point too. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. The toilets were clean and well lit so you can actually see yourself in the mirror 🪞. So what more can you ask for?

A very aesthetically pleasing space, beautiful views from the deck. The food is okay, nothing particularly outstanding but decent enough. The service is excellent, the staff are very attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is a bit somber and I would advise going with people who carry a good vibe as the venue itself doesn’t really have an ‘energy’ of it’s own. The tea selection is really good with fresh pots brewed using fresh ingredients, highly recommend the lemon, ginger and honey pot. The shisha flavour I had (African Queen), I didn’t enjoy at all but I have been to this restaurant/lounge on two previous occasions and I enjoyed the shisha options I chose then so I would definitely return to try a different flavours. This was my third visit to this space which has since changed names and cuisine type. An improvement they have made is moving the toilets indoors and previously you had leave the physical building to access the toilets which were outdoors. Unfortunately there remains a draft in the building, I’m not sure if this is intentional to provide ventilation for the shisha smoke but it makes the place FREEZING. We had a large group booking for a birthday celebration, and from start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make the evening special. From accommodating last-minute add-ons to managing a big table with patience and professionalism, everything was handled beautifully.

A huge thank you to all the team and especially the manager, you guys were exceptional : your patience, kindness, and attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. You made us all feel so welcomed and truly made the night one to remember. Even with the chaos of a big party, you kept everything running smoothly, and I am so grateful for how understanding and organised you were.

The food was exceptional every dish was well received , came out on time, even though my guests didn’t 😭 . From the starters to the mains, everything exceeded expectations, and everyone left raving about how good it was.
