Anyone into their long walks or hiking in general with amazing views, then this place is for you here in North Wales. Personally I prefer this area over Snowdon itself. It isn’t a tourist attraction, so the mountains you climb isn’t crowded. As you climb the first section leading up to the first mountain it overlooks a pretty impressive water dam. The upper reservoir for "Electric Mountain", this once small lake has been massively enlarged by the construction of a huge dam. The dam is only really visible from above so whilst it's a bit of an eyesore, the designers did their best to make it blend in. Interesting place but not worth a trip...

Found at about 2000 ft at the end of a road that's only accessible by foot or cycle it's a gentle climb of 2 miles and will wear the kids out hopefully. The lake itself feeds the power station as the water drains from it down through turbines. All very clever...
