Everyone made an effort to be nice and civil. Friday and Saturday unfortunately a lot of wind. Despite the weather which picked up everyone was upbeat. Very clean grounds and kept that way all weekend. Security was fab and very helpful. In fact some went beyond the call of duty helping my disabled neighbour, thank you so much. Food was plentiful and reasonably priced. Enactments were educational and love the way they engage with the audience. Some first class author's who are more than happy to indulge in conversation. Had friends come down Saturday and Sunday who loved the weekend. Singing entertainment by Fiona was not only lovely, but took me back to many childhood memories with her choice of songs. Loved the many outfits she wore. Hope to see you again next year. I had a very chilled weekend and everyone seemed relaxed and laid back. It was a pleasure to talk to Jo and his daughter Abigail about their birds of pray. And a big thank you to the author Rupert Wieloch who moved me emotionally with his stories about our troops. Who book iv started to enjoy reading " Churchill's Abandoned Prisoners." Thank you for the excellent work of research you put into your work. We know the first casualties of War is the truth. I never realised its also one of the lasts. Thank you to all those who gave your time and knowledge.
Sarah and Steve are doing a great job. Hope this event is around for a long time to come and...
Read moreWent for the fireworks 2025 display. The fireworks themselves were fantastic 🎆great smaller, quieter display first, but the main display was beautiful! Was about 20mins and were able to find benches with a great view. But, the rest of the day was literally just a fair and food stalls. There was no hot air balloon display (it says weather permitted, but they weather was good and there werent even any balloons in site). The food stalls all together was a bad bad idea, it got sooo rammed. If anything had happened there would have been a lot of injured people. They should have been spread out. And the food prices were ridiculous, and really not worth it! £10 for a pot of strawberries? £10 for a small bag of sweets? £10 for a bag of donuts? £25 for 2 hotdogs and a burger with cheap cheese and dry rolls? Certainly not worth that! And £5 to kick a football 🤦♀️ So all in all.... we would go back for the fireworks, but...
Read moreHeritage Live @ Ardingly. Very poor, if I could give zero stars I would. As much as a loved the acts my disappointment involves the incorrect seating plan I was given when I purchased my tickets. My 3rd row seat became a 15th row seat as a large standing area was set up Infront of block A. No mention of this 'zone' at point of purchase. To make matters worse 'security' continued to let in people who had purchased tickets to the blocks further back. I know as I spoke to many of them who couldn't quite believe their luck at buying the cheapest ticket but being so close to the stage. I approached several stewards concerning this and was told there was nothing they could do. I'll stick to The Love Supreme festival for next summer's outdoor music events. A much better set-up regarding facilities, security and general all round...
