The light trail is pretty, effective but short and overcrowded, lots of photo opportunities however so many people waiting to use each one. The pumpkins (huge range- gourds, squashes and decorative Indian corn) start at £1 for anything up to 5inch then price increase, extra large was £20 I think that was the most expensive I saw. I’d say overpriced for what you actually get to experience for the ticket cost as you have to pay for anything else once through the gate- I’d have thought a medium/small pumpkin would at least be included. Marshmallows start at £1.50 for 1 and a s’mores kit is £5.50 for two marshmallows and 4 chocolate digestives. Food options were plenty, as with any event you go to the price was average, £7/8 for a kids meal. Doughnuts were £6 for 6 if I remember rightly but they aren’t the tiny ones you see at the seaside, they’re average doughnut size and freshly made. Ferris wheel is £7 adult £5 child, our lot managed to go round 3 times so you do get your moneys worth if it’s always 3 goes. Toilets onsite are clean, didn’t wait in queues for toilets either. Website says about actors being there but in our time (6pm onwards) we only saw 2 who were with a family having photos taken. The event closed at 10pm the day we went (Saturday) You do get a stamp so if you need or want to go back to your car for anything you can get back in easily. Recommend wearing wellies or appropriate footwear as areas can be muddy with our lovely English weather. Overall I haven’t recommended to friends as I didn’t see much else to do than the light trail at the cost you pay to get in, this is purely opinion based and it is still lovely to see. Would also be helpful to be told a ‘route’ to follow or be pointed in the right direction as we walked in and were stumped on where to go; again this is my opinion and I guess we could have asked as hadn’t...
Read moreWe travelled from London on the slow train from Blackfriars to Three Bridges. At Three Bridges we grabbed a coffee from Greggs on the station as food nearby is limited. As the 84 bus runs every 2 hours I asked in the nearby cab office how much it was to the Pumpkin Farm, it was £15. I left and checked Uber - it was a little over £7 and took around the advertised 10 minutes. The pumpkin farm itself was really well laid out and was very busy ( 11.30am on half term, the atmosphere was really good and the displays were excellent, there was a stilt walker as entertainment and wheel barrows are provided to load your pumpkins on. There are plenty of fixed points to take pictures, including a pumpkin head scarecrow. We headed to the Pumpkin Field which was very muddy and sticky and a music duo played nearby. There were hundreds of pumpkins scattered ready to be picked up, they are not planted for you to cut and we took a prop spooky hand for entertainment. We grabbed plenty of photos though and decided we would choose smaller pumpkins from the crates around the gift shops and restaurants. We chose smallish pumpkins and gourds and had a look round the food offerings, nothing really took our fancy and they were all quite busy, while you can get a pumpkin spice latte, we didn't find any pumpkin pie. The pumpkins are sold by size, and yes they are cheaper in supermarkets, but where is the fun in that, I only really found Pumpkin Carving kits to be overpriced at £13. We left the farm and crossed the road to get the bus back as it was die in 15 minutes, bear in mind they run every 2 hours. While waiting an enthusiastic taxi driver came over and offered to take 6 people for £3.50 per person, everyone declined, the bus was £2 back to...
Read moreDisappointed… I do think it’s nicely decorated, and I can see a lot of effort has gone into the place but not really sure what the £10 entry gets you other than a walk in a mud pit. The place was so busy it was basically impossible to move, couldn’t get anywhere through crowds of people. Really do think there should be less tickets available to purchase for each time slot, it was just too much. Then considering they were aware of the large number of people due to attend, by 11am there were no veggie burgers (leaving only fries as veggie food) and no pumpkin spice for drinks, I feel like these are a part of the experience and it’s disappointing that they’d didn’t anticipate stocking up on this. Online it said toffee apples were sold, there were only chocolate apples. Just little things like that don’t help. It was a really really rainy day, so I understand that it dampens the experience and the weather can’t be controlled. But simple things like somewhere to clean muddy boots off or to clean the pumpkins would have been great. To top it all off, spent £25 on a pumpkin that when we got home and cleaned all the mud off, it’s completely rotten. So now that’s got to go in the bin. I just feel like there was a lot of hype and what we saw didn’t match what they advertise. We might try again next year just to see whether this was an off day, but for £10 entry (totalling £50 for the family) we weren’t overly impressed. If you want to go just for pictures and an instagrammable day out then you’ll be fine, we had fun overall but there was little to do especially for...
