New China Garden — Local services in Milton Keynes

We decided go try a diff Chinese takeaway as we have not had one in so long. We opted for here due to Google reviews and distance from home. The lady who served us very nice and helpful and recommended dishes for us as we love spicy.

I'm always worried about Chinese take away food as it usually leaves me mentally thirsty and drinking gallons of water after. This place does not do that so I assume they do not add the flavour enhancing stuff which for us is great. The food tasted good on its own and we polished the lot off We had chicken chow mein with added green chillies and it had a great volume of chicken as opposed to other places Egg fried rice - standard and tasty can't go wrong Chicken with chilli and black bean sauce - recommended and it was scrumpy Crispy chilli beef - this tasted a little sweeter than other places but was lovely all the same Crispy chicken fried in chilli and salt - plenty of garlic and tasty but cud have used some more green chillies but that's just our taste Crispy seaweed - nice as always All the above cost under £30 and we have prawn crackers...

This place is the definition of hit and miss. I always order their Singaporean vermicelli, and every time it’s PHENOMENAL. It’s well seasoned, very spicy and has smoky smell straight from a hot wok! 9/10

BUT…their egg fried rice is the WORST thing i put in my mouth all year. Firstly small portion at £4.50 for plain egg fried rice. Their other fried rice are ok, but this was beyond terrible…just avoid this dish at all costs.

Their beef in black bean 8/10…decent! Their chow mein is very good 8/10 Special fried rice good 7/10 Their soups are ok 6/10.

Overall current 3.8 star...

Been going to this take away since it first opened a long time back moved to MK 40 years ago. to day i had the most terrible meal i have ever had there. the chicken and sweetcorn soup was just boiled Chicken with no sweetcorn and had no flavour at all. the chicken and mushroom was the same no flavour at all and had like a slime of flower on the beef. the sweet and sour chicken balls where lovely i must admit. and the chicken chowmain was nice. very unhappy as this cost £30 and i have had a better one from asda for £7. i think they must have a new cook because this has never...
