What a wonderfully place this was. Plenty of parking, first 90 minutes free, so if you don't fancy staying or get back to the car before 90 mins, you don't need to pay, just leave,if staying longer only £3 all day, pay via app or there is a Paystation to use a card/wireless, or pay at lodge. Walks well published, several options, from 1.5 miles to 6 miles around the whole reservoir, we chose to do the 4 miles "up north and back", lovely views, comfortable large stoned path, not good it you had a wheelchair though. There's a activity centre to do sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoes, open water swimming. Did enquire about kayaking, it was £20 per session, a session was 90 mins, which sounded ok to me. A double kayak was £30 for 90mins. We called in cafe at the end of our walk, had a pasties and drinks. Food and cakes looked amazing. Would recommend to stop here, great views of the reservoir with inside and outside veranda seating.

Lovely place to go for a walk, participate in water sports or just sit and enjoy the view from the cafe balcony, or the benches around about. There are a few picnic tables with benches whilst some bring their own picnic chairs, books and thermos flasks to while away a sunny afternoon. Has a very easy going vibe. Parking is free, there is disabled parking available close to the visitors centre too. Toilets are free to use whether you use the cafe or not and are modern and clean. The prices in the cafe are very reasonable considering the view you get. The grounds are well kept. Just a stunning place to be shared and enjoyed by all. Check their website for information and booking water sports, and also details of the trial walks around the reservoir. Well done Dwr Cymru!

Been here a few times and enjoyed a couple of walks in the area and meals in the cafe and visitor centre. Today's walk was an attempt at the circular walk around the reservoir. Not 100% successful as I lost the walk early on and ended up taking some country lanes and only picked up the circular route a few miles later, which was signposted well from then on. Some new views and a pleasant walk, but you can't walk around the edge of the reservoir, the path takes you away from it at various point.

If you can find it (signposts in the lanes very few and far between) it’s a pretty place to visit Car parking is free up to an hour (then £3) but hard to tell if you just park and go if under an hour or if you have to register anyway - the signs aren’t clear enough….me and 3 other visitors were all confused - we left within an hour so did nothing but have no idea if that was the right thing to do as the signs were awkward (one lady couldn’t even find an English sign in the top car park (only Welsh) looked like the nearest one was half way down the path? The food is pretty expensive and the coffee tastes a bit odd. The gluten free choice is poor - tiny pre packed cake only (despite several beautiful looking cakes on display) and 2 or 3 choices of basic meals I’d take a picnic - would enjoy it more! Pretty place but could do a lot better with the cafe & we were disappointed that the little shop underneath seems to have disappeared, in it’s place a ‘grab and go’. - I think the ‘grab and go’’ should’ve been in the old ice cream hut by the car park and the shop left alone I would go back if I was going to stay all day and walk around the reservoir but I wouldn’t rush back nor would I just pop there for...
