It was a lovely Tunnel of Love experience on our 19th Wedding Anniversary in a place neither one of us had been before and where Dire Straits whom we both love made that song with these words in it " Girl it looks so pretty to me Like it always did Oh Like the Spanish City". What a great location for this Park Dean site and we have visited a few this was our third this year . Stunning beach and great for walking and cycling and we found it very clean. |The pre visit phone call to make sure we were still coming and the lovely welcome on reception by all the staff was a great sign of customer service. YES we paid to have a specific location on site and it was a wise decision as parking around the site isnt always close to the caravans. Unlike some sites where everyone can park alongside the caravan on this Park thats not the case. |However looking at the history of the site location this caravan park has been around a good few years before it became ParkDean. The caravans are quite close together but think this dates back to the previous owners. |Swimming pool looked good although forgot my cossie but good thing was no booking required . There were only two of us but need two loos and we had three bedrooms . The carvan well suited our needs. Onsite shop which wasnt as expensive as we expected so that was a plus . Staff in the bar and showbar upstairs ( lift available for the infirm ..hubby has mobility scooter so that was a plus ) were very pleasant and we didnt see anyone being unpleasant like some previous reviews stated . If the bottle of wine hadnt been so expensive we would have spent more time in the bar. Menu as expected as its standard. There was no pushy sales people and that was fabby. |Bus stop right outside the entrance and that is a HUGE plus for being able to go into town and have a drink and eats and no one having to drive or having to find parking and pay. We walked and hubby scooted into town and got the bus back £2.50 each but possibly cheaper than a taxi? We used the laundry and that was £4.70 for a load and the dryer £2.70 but well worth it as we were staying 14nights . |Bingo pays out good prize money and for those who like it worth a bash. Wish the Karaoke for adults didnt start so late as for us would have been better around 8.30pm. |Unfortunatley for that reason we didnt go . Howver £918 for two weeks holiday away from it all by the sea and works out £65 a night and you cant get a hotel room these days for that price and we like to cook anyway and only ate out once but for those who like to eat out eatery on site and many other places in town. Many thanks again guys for a lovely stay and already booked ParkDean for next May back to where our first ParkDean...

Absolutely Basic No Frills holiday caravan. It looked like no caravan in their published Range. Certainly NOT a published NEW HARTLEY. Apparently I should have noticed their Disclaimer -"Images are representative and may not be the specific accommodation assigned on booking." You're not kidding!|However, supplied contents covered everything you need for 4 people to 'holiday'.. This 'New Hartley' spec caravan (Cedar Walk CW41 for REFERENCE) was called a WILLERBY GRASMERE and was as basic as as they come. |Spotlessly clean and well presented on arrival, a credit to the Housekeeping team. |A fair bit of wear and tear around kitchen area and bench seating sofa. No coffee table or anything that you could use in the Living area for your hot or cold drinks etc. Missing/broken and never replaced? No net curtains so no privacy once the (new?) main curtains were opened. As Basic a caravan as you can get, I guess. But it was clean, warm and relatively inexpensive. Get what you pay for?|Storage was very, very sparse and just about OK for the 2 of us, but 6 people in one of these would be in Big Trouble storage wise because there's hardly any.|Annoying but Fun trying to get the central heating to work. No Instructions of any kind. We succeeded by sheer trial and error. No gas fire in living area so HAD to rely on the CH for any warmth. |Large fridge/freezer was a nice surprise. |The Main Bedroom was again basic in the extreme with only a single inset light in the pent roof. Not even a bedside lamp or even a cupboard. No wardrobe either, just a cubby hole with rail. |Bed -Over time we've learned the hard way and nowadays use their supplied duvet as a mattress topper and bring our own duvet for use over us as theirs is barely adequate size wise. The double bed itself however was surprisingly comfy. We slept well.|The second bedroom (unused by us) was similarly barren and you'd have to be very friendly with your roommate such was the closeness of the (narrow) beds.|Bathroom? Zero storage. Not even a shelf for a toothbrush. No chance of razor socket Decent size shower cubicle though.|Cooking facilities. Lots of pots and pans, some quite worn now but usable, full set of utensils. Loads of plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery etc. No problem. Cooker itself was clean and efficient if SLOW. Its bottle gas driven of course.|For what we paid, it was OK - for a week. |In hindsight, we wish we'd spotted their "Get Out Of Jail" Disclaimer and paid a little more for some general...

šŸ‰Magic Weekend - St Helens Rugby šŸ‰||We stayed at Whitley Bay Holiday Park from Friday 2nd May - Monday 5th May 2025. We came to Newcastle as a family to watch St Helens Rugby Play. ||When we arrived late Friday evening, we quickly unpacked and headed out for tea on site. The food was amazing and it wasn’t too pricey either. Staff were friendly and happy to help. When we got back to our Caravan we realised it was only set up for 4 people. As soon as we called the emergency number bedding was brought over straight away. ||Activities |We booked a few activities for the kids to do on the Saturday and Sunday. ||Saturday our lad and girls played Football which was ran by an amazing staff member MARC. Marc was fab with all the kids getting everyone involved, the age of the kids playing ranged from 6-13 years old. ||Saturday our girls who are aged 6 and 8 years old were booked on the inflatable Jet Skies. This activity was ran by another Incredible member of staff called JAMIE. After 10 mins my girls had enough of the jet skies so Jamie continued entertaining them with inflatable balls , squirty guns and his silly personality. ||Sunday we went for a family swim which was Free. JAMIE and MARC were the life guards on duty during our session . JAMIE again was ace with the kids he kept squirting them and other kids with water which they loved. ||Saturday evening |As a family we got the number 309 bus straight into Newcastle to watch the rugby. The bus stop was located right outside the Holiday Park making it a perfect location to stay for the Magic Weekend.||On Site Entertainment |The entertainment for the children was great and the adults only bingo linked up to the other clubs was fantastic. Ā£18 for a book of 6 tickets, but the prize money if you won was worth the Ā£18 paid. ||Overall Review |Overall our stay at WHITLEY BAY Holiday Park was Fantastic. We would highly recommend staying here if you fancy a get away. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. A big shout out to JAMIE and MARC for being the best entertainers. Our children loved you guys.||Slight Issue (very slight issue)|The only tiny issue we had was that the shop on site closed quite early (7pm I think it was shut by on Sat and Sun) But we were informed there were shops a few minutes drive away if we needed anything....

On arrival we were allocated a van that had no parking near it due to old vans being stored on the nearest car park. It was in the middle of a very soggy grassy area with two chipboard pieces on the floor to aid passage to the van. The key would not open the door and it had a notice on it saying it was a pet free van. We had a dog with us. The receptionist was very helpful and gave us another van, with parking and closer to the road. The van was very clean, warm and well appointed with appliances, crockery etc. We were not very impressed with the leisure facilities but the grandchildren enjoyed themselves. The pool got too busy, with lots of children jumping in without much thought for others, the first time we went in, but I had a great swim during adult swim time. Our one meal in the restaurant was excellent and bar/restaurant staff were very pleasant. The entertainment was generally poor and aimed at very young children. The 'magician' at 9pm, was very third rate, and again more like children's party entertainment than serious magic. Overall we did not enjoy being in the entertainment room because children were running around all the time and there was no real adult entertainment. The quizzes etc. done via video were a bit of light entertainment but done very badly and only really keeping a few people engaged. The dog walk was a mess with glass and old wooden boards lying around. Overall, the site needs to improve its parking, its access to vans in the grassy areas and its management of van removal and delivery. Too many vans were taking up parking space. The surrounding area was great. We went up St Mary's lighthouse, walked around the nature reserve and along the beach to town. We also visited Blyth and went to a Vue cinema fairly close by. We walked along the North Pier at Tynemouth. We would definitely visit the area again but would only come to the park again if it was much improved in terms of access and entertainment.

Well thank you, what a fabulous break we have had. Walking is easy no up and down hills. Something for everyone here. The view from the caravan is stunning and a bird watchers haven, with a nature reserve and hide outs. We will definitely return. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did šŸ˜Ž Updated 09/06/23 Another great break..caravan was amazing and clean..never disappointed here. Thank you for another lovely holiday 😊 Update April 2024 Another fantastic break here. Baby seals at the lighthouse and stunning coastal walks ...thanks for another jolly holiday 😊

Please bear in mind this review is about the caravan we stayed in - it won't necessarily reflect the experience of other people in other caravans. We paid Ā£200 for 4 nights in mid-October 2022 just to give an idea of the grade of caravan we stayed in. The caravan was clean when we entered, but we were surprised to find the TV was on. We noticed that one of the kitchen lights wasn’t working - we could have called reception but we managed without it. We thought this is something that perhaps should have been checked and fixed before we arrived. The second problem we noticed was the TV - if you can imagine seven little spotlights shining onto the screen. It was a bit distracting. The caravan was described as having Freeview, but it was limited - for example there was no Sky TV as well as quite a lot of other Freeview channels we get at home. All the radio stations were BBC, so there was no Classic FM or Heart, and when the weather was poor even the BBC channels tended to break up. The third problem was the shower - the shower head flopped so you weren’t able to let the water fall onto you, and instead you had to take the shower in your hand and do it that way. The fourth problem was the cooker - it was so worn that the instructions had worn off. You couldn’t tell which knob related to which gas ring, and you couldn’t work out the temperature of the oven. We were in the middle of Dahlia Drive which was like a sprawling estate. There was limited parking at either end and although we managed to get parked up each time we came back to the park I can imagine this would be a bigger problem in the summer when there are more holidaymakers. We found the furniture uncomfortable although the beds were comfy. All in all, we paid for 4 nights what we had paid for 7 nights at another caravan holiday park in Yorkshire, and the one in Yorkshire was in a much better condition. We won't be rushing back. Lesson learned!
