We had an absolutely amazing time at Daytona Tamworth! This was our first time racing in heavy rain, and wow, what an experience! The speed, the roar of the engines, the skidding across wet puddles… pure fun and adrenaline. On arrival, the atmosphere was already positive. We were given a QR code to create an account and fill out consent forms. One tip: if you’re claiming the 15% student discount, it only applies per student so if you’re paying for four people, they’ll only discount the one student ticket unless everyone has a valid student card (which you need to physically show at check-in). We were given all-in-one race suits — a bit on the sweaty side, but the staff were great about swapping sizes when needed. The safety briefing before the race was spot on: clear, concise, and covered all the essential do’s and don’ts. Helmets were handed out on the way to the track. Just note you’ll need a balaclava (either bring your own or buy one there for £5). Gloves are provided. Before starting, they checked our names and allocated karts. The track is well-organised, and the team kept everything running smoothly. At the end we got a surprise a mix of hail and heavy rain in the last two laps! We were soaked, sitting in puddles in the seats, but honestly, driving a water-filled track just made it even more exhilarating. The karts themselves were a little worn but still performed well. Compared to others I’ve tried, the steering felt stiffer and more forceful to navigate, but after the 10-minute practice session, we got the hang of it before the main 20-minute race. Overall, yes, it’s a little on the pricey side but the track length, open-air setting, and the sheer fun factor make it worth it. Many thanks to the Daytona Tamworth team for keeping things safe while letting us have maximum fun. Highly recommend!

It's really a pleasure to see how Daytona staff manage to keep things going under these restrictions and do it safe. Every time we visit, the experience gets simpler but is as rewarding for the little one. There is no better way to teach kids to drive. At the end of each event, you get the stats... if your child is not the best (like mine... ISN'T) you can always think of these in terms of last visit's and work out improvements... a bit of a "race against yourself" kinda' thing. That way, if they race against themselves, they can't lose...

I write this review in response to the owners reply to a previous review left by a friend of mine regarding our recent experience at the track.

The owners have been very dishonest about the situation and have clearly no other response other than to call us liars. Pathetic.

The karts supplied have been ran into the ground and had very little maintenance, the performance of the individual karts are so varied that it is impossible to have a fair race with your party.

My first kart only lasted a matter of laps until it started to misfire, and would not allow full throttle on the straights and instead the engine just sputtered violently and had no power. After requesting a replacement, I was told that the karts were checked previous to our race and there was nothing wrong with it (by a very upset employee who clearly doesn't like his job) but they reluctantly replaced the kart when they realised I would not be paying ÂŁ46 to plod around in an inconsistent kart.

My second kart, ran far worse than the first kart and completely cut out on the main straight within minutes. I was helped by a single female member of staff (the only member of staff who actually appeared concerned about customer satisfaction) who pushed me all the way back to the pits on her own as many other Male members of staff stood there and watched!

Upon arrival to the pit lane, my original kart was sat there running and they expected me to go back out in it! I explained again that this would not be happening and I would be grateful of a refund considering I hadn't actually completed a lap in a decent kart.

I was then told quite aggressively that refunds were not an option. I asked in reception to speak to the manager, and again was met with some aggression from the members of staff behind the counter.

After waiting over 20 mins to speak with the manager, I did request that there would be some sort of compensation for the whole party as everyones experience was ruined because we could not all race together. I never asked for a full refund as they have stated.

To be fair, I was offered a credit on my account of 65 points equivalent to ÂŁ65. Understandably, we will not be returning to your track so these points are useless to me and I feel greatly let down that our day was ruined not only by inconsistent, poorly maintained karts but also a poor approach to customer satisfaction.

I had been to this track previously and had a great experience, however this only makes the whole situation more frustrating as we did not receive the same experience as I had before.

I sincerely hope the owners can accept some responsibility in the future and not resort to calling there customers liars when it appears they have no way to defend them selfs.

If your not put of by this review and still intend on visiting, I would strongly recommend you stick to the sodi karts as they appear to have actually had some maintenance at some point in...

Great track, horrendous kart deviation, ignorant staff.

I had a race in a Dmax and then competed in 4 races in the 4 strokes throughout the day. The track is great fun. Unfortunately that’s where the good news ends.

The karts were maintained to a terrible standard. For starters, multiple karts across the grid had tyres on which were worn beyond the wear indicators. Plastics bumpers were catching wheels etc..

When first sitting in the Dmax kart, I noticed the rear bumper/plastics were catching on the rear wheel. I informed the pit lane crew to which they replied “that will be alright”. It scraped around the entire practice/race session. During the race the kart cut out 3 laps from the end of the race (apparently the battery went flat). I was not reinstated my position despite asking.

The 4 stroke grid easily had a 2 second deviation in kart performance. This was openly admitted by one of the mechanics via a group chat to a friend. Fantastic if you got one of the quicker karts, horrendous if you got the slower ones. I complained about my kart during the practice session and was denied the option to change it after a Marshall tested the kart and said “it’s within tolerance”. After the first race I then complained about the kart again, it remained on the grid for the following race. The next race I was in another kart and instantly 1 second quicker and fighting at the front of the grid without any change in weather or circumstance. The final heat I was put back into the kart I had for race 1. Again I asked to swap karts to which the reply was “we can’t and it’s within tolerance”. There were 3 other karts at the side ready and running which could have easily been swapped into. Needless to say I fell backwards through the grid badly. I complained again, yet again the Marshalls ignored my complaints and left the kart on the grid for the next race (funnily enough it came 2nd last). Into the final race of the day, I had another kart which was decent (1.4 seconds quicker than the previous one).

I understand rental karts always have deviation but my complaints are around the ignorant staff who repeatedly refused to swap my kart after asking multiple times. The kart was clearly horrendous as in every race it was at the back of the grid. Maybe the Daytona staff need to remember that the customer pays the bills and when the customer isn’t happy it’s their job to do something about it!

Needless to say… if you want a good fair race. I wouldn’t go to...
