I recently visited Saddleworth Moor and was blown away by its rugged beauty. The moorland is vast and expansive, with rolling hills and valleys as far as the eye can see. The landscape is wild and untamed, providing a stark contrast to the urban surroundings of nearby cities. The moorland is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds of prey, such as kestrels and buzzards. I also saw numerous sheep grazing in the fields, adding to the rural atmosphere of the area. One of the highlights of my visit was the stunning views from the hilltops. The panoramic vistas are truly breathtaking, providing a unique perspective of the moorland and surrounding countryside. The scenery is ever-changing depending on the time of day and weather conditions, making every visit to Saddleworth Moor a unique experience. However, it's important to note that the moorland can be dangerous and challenging to navigate, especially in adverse weather conditions. It's recommended to follow the designated paths and take appropriate safety precautions. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Saddleworth Moor for nature lovers and hikers seeking a wild and rugged adventure. It's a truly remarkable landscape that showcases the raw beauty of nature.

Been to Saddleworth moors today ... really sad when you think of what once happened here... but what a place ...... stunning views , and some of the best driving roads in the northwest.... I'm guilty of taking part in a short stage rally for about 5 miles ... be rude not to wouldn't it.... only 20ft visibility too because of the thick fog .... went for little walk over the moors .... was really eerie and couldn't help thinking of the poor children out here on there own.... so sad........ highly recommended to visit though......

Absolutely stunning scenery. We took the most adventurous routes we could find visiting all three resevoirs, where we explored the breathtakingly beautiful snow covered crags & Saddleworth moor.

If you have never been before, do it now! Be prepared for all types of landscapes to tread amongst, from knee deep snow to boggy marshlands, and steep and shallow inclines. Take plenty of coffee, water, food and courage for the...
