Welcome to the Reigate Heath Local Nature Reserve, a true haven of natural beauty nestled in the heart of Reigate, England. This enchanting reserve is a testament to the region's commitment to preserving its unique landscapes and offering a slice of tranquility to visitors. Stretching over acres of unspoiled heathland, the reserve boasts a diverse array of flora and fauna. The sprawling heather-covered terrain is a sight to behold, especially when it's in full bloom, painting the landscape with hues of purple and pink. You'll have the chance to spot various bird species, small mammals, and even the occasional deer as you explore the walking trails that wind through this picturesque haven. History weaves its tapestry through this land, making your visit even more meaningful. Firstly, the Reigate Heath Local Nature Reserve has been a designated site of special scientific interest for its rare plant species and valuable ecological features. This status reflects its importance in both local and national conservation efforts. Secondly, just a stone's throw away lies the charming town of Reigate, with its medieval history and quaint architecture. In fact, the town's market square dates back to the 13th century and continues to be a lively hub of activity. As you amble through the trails of Reigate Heath, you'll not only connect with nature but also with the historical threads that have woven this landscape into the fabric of the community. This natural oasis offers a serene escape from urban life and invites you to rejuvenate your senses. Whether you're a nature lover or a history enthusiast, the Reigate Heath Local Nature Reserve promises an unforgettable experience that celebrates both the beauty of the outdoors and the heritage of the town it calls home.

A little oasis of calm situated just off the A25, where open heathland meets pine woods. A network of sandy trails crosses the heath, just be aware that some paths take you across the golf course so take care when play is happening. The higher parts of the heath benefit from fine views of the North Downs, and the attractive windmill comes as a nice surprise. The row of charming colourful cottages along the edge of the heath look lovely in the evening sun. There are decent sized free parking areas either side of the road, and an information board at the start of the trail with a map. Popular with dog walkers and a great place to feel close to nature, a short walk from the centre of Reigate where you can find shops and cafés on the very pleasant High Street.

It is a quiet place where you can walk your pet. There is a free unorganized parking lot.
