Well worth a visit. Allow a couple of hours for a leisurely stroll around the reservoirs. Moderately challenging with well prepared route round. Several steep steps up and down in places. Pleasant views. I went with a dog on a bus to Norden village. Got off at the Co-op, short walk to a lane before the church, the end of which is an alley leading to Kendal Avenue. At the end of the Avenue turn left, follow the road up and round to the right till you see steps on the left. This public footpath leads right, down to the reservoir where you can decide which way round the reservoir you want to go. On my way round a couple were successfully going round with a push chair but this was extremely challenging up and down the prepared steep steps. Not impossible but not recommended in my opinion. I will definitely return. Take water and refreshments, especially if a warm day as there are no refreshment sales...

Nice paths for walking/running round the reservoirs. Short walk from Norden village and once there some nice rural scenery; for the more enthusiastic walker there are paths over to Rooley Moor or up to Knowl Hill.

Woodhouse lane from the village is narrow, cobbled in places with a few potholes and does get too many cars. There is limited parking at the top.

Easier to park in the village, or on the road up from the White Lion. From the village it's a gentle uphill walk but you are rewarded with countryside to admire, and can always take one of the three paths from the road to the...

Really accessible with fantastic views towards Manchester City Center and the Cheshire plains beyond, this is a wonderful place to a walk, on good hard core paths high up the sides of the reservoir. In fact there are three reservoirs in a line and it is possible to figure of eight walk around them depending on your time and stamina. Obviously however be warned it can get very wild up here and weather can change quickly so be prepared. Plenty of dog walkers come here, and on a snowy day the local families flock to the slopes for...

Highly recommended walking here. The views are amazing. The full walk around all the reservoirs take approx 2 and half hours. I parked my car on the street near the big green gates. The full loop does lead back to the street I parked on. Free street parking. Lots of inclines to navigate. Make sure you have a drink with you as it can be thirsty work. For parents it isn't pram friendly as it is very rocky in parts and you'll need to climb a couple of small hills to complete the route.

4 reservoirs in one. Lots of trails and paths to walk. Can even get up onto the hills and walk across to knowl Hill or wartergrove reservoir in wardle. Can be lots of sheep about so be careful if you have a dog with you. Can see manchester city centre easily from the car park. Our favorite walk is from the car park, turn left at the first gate. It takes you all the way round the bigger 3. Roughly 6 miles back to the car.
