Run by local volunteers this place offers many hand crafted items at very reasonable prices. Take a stroll round the well laid out museum free of charge. Alness was a major RAF base for Catalina flying boats during WW11 and played a big part in supply of warships during WW1. There's a free car park round the back in a week tended remembrance garden. Grab a cup of tea and cake from their cafe and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Brilliant place to visit. Very friendly and welcoming. Heritage displays particularly interesting. The shop has been renovated and there is wide range of items for sale. Home made knitted items are outstanding value as are many of the...
