I really came here to see the Burns Monument. Turns out it's currently being refurbished. The monument is currently surrounded by scaffolding and fenced off to the public. The gardens are nice, but that's not what I wanted to see.

This place is right next to the Brig O'Doon and 5 minutes walk to the Burns Birthplace Museum. So it's not too much of a detour. If you only want to see the monument, then it's a bit of a...

A lovely memorial to Rabbie Burns set in its own gardens. You can climb up the steps and get views over the area including the Brig O'Doon There are also some figures and commentary about the Tam O'Shanter story as well. Lovely gardens surround the monument Definitely worth a visit even if you have little or no knowledge of...

What a lovely peacful, stunning place on such a beautiful sunny day The gardens are an explosion of colour, set adjacent to historic Brig'O Doon. Great information on the world famous poet and amazing statues of two of his greatest characters Soutar Johnny and Tam O' Shanter. Free entry is a real gift.
