Robert Burns Birthplace Museum Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Went to the cafe in the Burn's Centre yesterday morning (4/10/2025) around 11:20 am. Asked for a toasted bagel with cream cheese; I know it's not on the menu, but previously, my request was accommodated. I explained to the young women with glasses, and asked politely for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. She barked, with as much disdain as she could muster, 'NO' and proceeded to give me the filthiest look I have seen in quite a while. She then barked the price of the two coffees I had just ordered. No please or thank you, just mindless contempt. I mean honestly what a way to run a cafe; management can't even instil basic manners in their staff. The unprovoked disdain of this young women was pretty disturbing; she clearly has some profound issues, and should not be interacting with members...

Poor service and lack of food! Arrived at 1.15 for lunch, no soup, only 1 sandwich left, hot food was a 40 min wait. No scones. Slow queue. Poor all round having little to no counter food/ cakes ( shortbread, gluten free Victoria sponge and walnut and coffee left only) Victoria sponge was like eating jam and powder granddaughter said. Tea and coffee were nice, but in hindsight we should've left and went elsewhere rather than buy drinks, but due to the length of time we waited in queue we felt 'well we are here now'... doubt we will be back at anytime near a meal service! Very rude & abrupt staff. We were served by Naomi who seemed annoyed that we’d arrived at 4pm, even though they don’t close until 5pm. We understood the kitchen was closed but any question we had about cakes was met with a snarl. Completely unhelpful, the others behind the counter were just as bad & seemed more interested in their own conversations than any semblance of customer service. Cakes were just ok.
