We didn't just pop past, we stayed the night! And wow, what spectacular views of the Eildon Hills and the Tweed Valley... and a great place to stop in a motorhome or, as we did, a roof tent and watch an amazing sunset. There are no facilities here, although there are rubbish bins. No signs anywhere that said we couldn't stay :)

There are also some great walks, and just above the viewpoint on what is called Bemersyde Hill you can walk up to a standing stone that marks tye summit... but it's no Munro and not even...

We were staying up the road at Springlee caravan site so we parked the car here took in the views and then carried on walking 🚶‍♂️ along the lane for about 30 minutes and found the signs for the William Wallace Statue, a very lovely walk through the woods and then we carried on down into the village and found another trail next to the Abbey which leads along the River Tweed. Past on a very lovely morning and got plenty...

We walked to Scott’s View from Melrose, the walk was well worth it. Plenty to see on the way and an amazing view. As I had expected there are a lot of drone shots from this point and you can’t get a shot of the river bend these days unless you have a drone. Well worth the walk or a drive and a photo. Autumn and a bit of mist with nice morning or evening light would make it...
