We had been touring the East of Scotland and the Borders and this was our last stop before heading home. We had just spent a wonderful evening in a BnB and thought it would be hard to beat!! As we got out of the car our hosts Martin and Lorna, greeted us with a warm welcome and proceeded to ask us to have a seat in the garden and gave us coffee and delicious home made biscuits!! What a beautiful garden and view of the surrounding hills and countryside. Martin and Lorna made us feel so at home. Inside their house was beautiful. So clean and tidy and breakfast was served in an impressive large rooom, almost like a mini banqueting Hall. The log fire was always lit and breakfast was a delight. Not cooked which suited us although you could ask for one for an additional cost. Cereals, granola, porridge, fresh fruit, an all Berry smoothie, croissants, toast, tea, coffee fruit juice and yoghurts. It was so tasty and very filling. We spent the days visiting Melrose, Selkirk, Peebles and various wonderful abbeys, castles and walked gardens. It was all so very relaxing and on the final evening we ordered an evening meal at the BnB. What a delicious meal. My steak was cooked to perfection by Martin and Veronica had salmon with all the extras. We were treated as family and friends. Our hosts were always so eager to help us and provide us with what we needed. If you are planning to spend some days in the Borders we would thoroughly recommend you stay at this BnB. We are planning to return there sometime...

We were over from Belfast for a wedding in Melrose and wanted to extend our trip to a 5 day break, to see the sites round Melrose and the famous Borders. We could not have chosen a better spot than, 'our' Martin and Broomfields. Broomfields is set in scenic, peaceful, countryside near Scott's Viewpoint at Bemersyde. It was idyllic. The views were fabulous. The garden was immaculate and Martin and Lorna's home was top class - and we were allowed to share it. Nothing was too much trouble. The healthy breakfasts were feasts. The craic was mighty! We had such a laugh together! Martin was a fabulous host. He clearly loved where he lived with a passion and knew all the best/most interesting places to explore. We attended our niece's wedding. Explored Melrose and Kelso, visited 3 abbeys, saw round 2 big houses/castles, walked 4 big gardens and were amazed by the Leaderfoot viaduct. We ate out at 4 restaurants and walked for miles along the Tweed and surrounding beautiful countrside. We returned to our base at the wonderful Broomfields each night. We never imagined our holiday would, or could be so, good. Martin and Lorna are the perfect hosts! We would come back in a flash and maybe we will, if we are allowed! lol ||Big hugs from Tanya and Tom, Martin and Lorna! We know you will be reading this! God bless you both. What you have created in Broomfields is very special but you two are at the real heart of...

We spent three nights here at the end of July and recommend the place highly. The location is in the tiny hamlet of Bemersyde. It seemed utterly quiet to me.The garden was lovely. Both rooms are away from the road as far as I can see.||There seem to be only two rooms and a large sitting room. You will meet any fellow guests as the breakfast on weekdays is at 8pm. It is served at a very large table. On Saturday, slightly later there was a cooked breakfast . Both breakfasts are pleasant and ample. Mueseli, porridge, croissants, yoghourt and fruit were amply supplied. The beakfast room is quite impressive as a design.Martin the host was always attentive and helpful. It was a pleasure...
