My family went to ride horses today and we were all disappointed. Two of us had our horses walked for us. While the other two had a little âfreedomâ to ride. We all have ridden horses before. I had a lovely young lady that walked my horse that I spoke with. She was super sweet. She said she and the other girl Amy (extremely talkative and a bit annoying to my 15 yr old) were walking the horses as they were tired. The horses had been out early in the morning on a two hour trip which included running along the beach. We paid for an hour to ride, not have my horse being walked as well as my daughters horse being walked by someone as we sat on the horses. We walked out of the farm, down a road to a narrow path that lead to the beach (no water as the tide was out) walked around the wet sand (we were never âallowedâ to ride alone as the website reads!!!) posed for pictures with one of the lead girls in our family photo, then led back the same route. We were never given a chance to take in the scenery or take photos of each other on their horse. Why am I disappointed? Because no where did my husband sign us up to have two of our horses walked for us as we sat. - We were fortunate to ride in Ireland a few years ago and it was amazing. We had a guide on her horse leading the way as the four of us rode behind them and we had another rider on her horse follow us. We rode up the side of a mountain and back down. Now that is riding a horse! Save...
Read moreMy wife and daughter were really looking forward to this hour long riding experience. The initial introduction was okay, with a bit of form filling in, but after that they were handed over to seasonal workers who didn't really understand our needs. My wife was given a chilled out horse, but my 13 yr old daughter was given a strong willed horse that just wanted to stop all of the time and eat everything going, this made controlling the horse very difficult. When booking, my wife asked lots of questions as to what they would need, and were to just to turn up. Once setting off, it became very clear that they should have been told to at least bring gloves as the equipment supplied was worn and not really suitable for novice riders, both had blister / minor cuts in their hands. Neither my wife or daughter enjoyed their hour (due to equipment and unsuitable horse) most of which was spent walking down the road, not the beach time as advertised. All in all, a very unhappy, disappointing and expensive (£85) hour experience that we would not entertain doing again. My wife raised her concerns at the end, but didn't really...
Read moreExtremely disappointing is an understatement. Arrived at the stables and had already told them that my 2 daughters were confident riders who had been hacking many times and could canter etc. We had booked the 1 hour trek which was the worst we have ever had anywhere. Charged £90 for 45 minutes riding (mostly on the road) and they got approx 30 seconds trotting on the beach before turning around, waiting for the staff to have a chat and then returned to stables. The ride has set off about 45 mins late (which had been explained so was fair enough) but we were rushed through just to get the day finished off. Extremely disappointed as this was supposed to be a holiday hi-light for my children. Also emailed them to explain disappointment but no reply which...
