Looks like a lovely place, so decided to test the restaurant on Sunday afternoon....... Unfortunately I can't say anything about food, but I may have a few words about the service.... Or lack of it.
At the entrance I asked one of the staff members if I can have a meal. He politely replied that I can sit anywhere. Bar was quite empty and I waited for service. 5 minutes later 2 guys took the table next to main and immediately got the menu. Few minutes later they got their drinks..... I was still waiting. Few minutes later another group took the table next to mine. They also got the menu and ordered the drinks. This was already over 15 minutes since I arrived. I decided to walk to the bar and ask for drink myself and came back to the table. After the second group of men got their drinks I started starring on the barman and he just shouted: IPA? Minutes passed and my drink was nowhere near. I walked to the bar again, so barman took the glass and started pouring my drink. I've asked: "Excuse me, is there any reason I was ignored?" Read moreThe Nairn Golf Club is a classic Highland links course that delivers authenticity, challenge, and charm in equal measure. Set along the Moray Firth, the course offers stunning coastal views from nearly every hole. The front nine hugs the shoreline, with the sea constantly in play and the wind demanding strategic shot-making. The back nine turns slightly inland, with tighter fairways and subtle elevation changes. The layout is fair but tests every aspect of your game—particularly your ability to control ball flight in the breeze. Conditioning is excellent, with firm, fast-running fairways and true, quick greens. While less talked about than nearby Castle Stuart or Royal Dornoch, Nairn holds its own with heritage and character. It hosted the 1999 Walker Cup, a testament to its championship pedigree. Nairn is a welcoming club with a warm, traditional Scottish atmosphere—and a round here feels like a true pilgrimage for lovers of...
Read moreThis was the first course my friends and I went to play while visiting Scotland for whisky and golf. From the moment we stepped into the clubhouse and enjoyed the incredible views from this historical, seaside club, we knew we had made the right choice. The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. But it was the course itself that had my friends and I relishing every moment. The historic ice house you visit for refreshments as you circle toward the back nine is very special, too. If you’re even a rare golfer and near this club, be sure not to miss The Nairn Golf Club. You’ll be...
