Chaplin’s Restaurant — Restaurant in Scotland

Unquestionably the worst dining experience of my life. Irrespective of the 90-minute wait for our food (there were 4 other tables - not busy on a Wednesday night in November) or the missing dish where we were inexplicably told by the waitress “I wondered where that was” - the “naan” was a tasteless tortilla chip (perhaps the first time the chef has made this?), the rice was hard as a rock and cold, and the sea bass was completely hammered. The curry tasted of salsa mixed with turmeric. The chips were fine. Other dinners around us had the exact same experience.

Well that was a massive disappointment. I ordered for starters.. mushrooms with ciabatta and garlic sauce... instead I got soggy brown bread with a garlic sauce and 3 tiny mushrooms lol... i had to send it back... I then got my chicken curry. Only to find out it was a re heated meal.. vegetables all soft like goo.. chicken so hard you could bounce it off the wall... This place is nasty lol.. definitely not fine dining. I've had way better meals at weatherspoons and theirs...

I had a good experience at the Chaplin restaurant in Scotland. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The menu offered a nice variety, and the food was tasty and well-prepared. While it wasn’t extraordinary, everything was satisfying, and I would definitely consider returning for another meal.
