Lovely golf course with some really interesting holes, particularly on the back 9. The fairways were in a terrible state (like many this dry summer) and I imagine it suffers badly in winter, but the greens were maybe the best I have played in the UK this year. The watering system also worked well on the aprons so they were also lush and green. Most of the bunkers also looked to have been newly renovated.

The course plays nearly 6800 yds off the van tees but it plays much shorter at the moment because of the extra run. There is not too much danger on most of the holes, the 11th, 13th and 16th (all par 4s) are probably the hardest holes in my opinion.

The bar is also nice and the coffee and bacon sarnie were top notch.

Played the course at the start of April and had been looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the weather had decided to step in and deluge the south coast with a helping of rain. The course had been closed to try and save the fairways for the weekend, but I found that it would have been better if it had been kept closed. At the end of the round, I felt extremely disappointed, with too many plugged balls and soggy ground to make it feel worth the ticket. The only upside of the day was the greens, which were in good condition. If the weather had been kinder, it would have made this course live up to expectations. Played the absolutely fantastic Championship Course including an incredible sequence of 3 holes mid round just like Amen corner in the US Masters. You really feel special playing these holes. Excellent challenging course, great greens, fully sanded bunkers and a rare tough 620 yard (yellow tee) par 5. This hole is a crafty narrow dog leg as well but chuffed to par it! At the end of round we were so impressed by Marilyn and Marcus in the Bar. We were given a very lovely welcoming reception and made to feel totally at home. Best service we've ever had.
