Absolutely love going here and it's my dogs favourite walk as they can run off the lead, but I do not go too close the cliff edge with them and if they start getting excited I put them back on the lead. They both run around so happily and roll around in the grass and chase each other as they have the freedom and safety to do so. I always pop I to the Guard House for either a cup of tea (they have a loyalty card stamped each time you purchase something once its stamped 8 times you get a free dri k and if you want take out and take your own travel cup then you get a big discount as they are very aware of the environment and if you do not have a travel cup you can buy one then there so with the discount it's not much more mi ey to buy a travel breaker and a dri k then if you were to buy one and use one of their disposable take out cups if that makes sense). I cant stress how beautiful and what a wonderful place it is to walk your dogs like I said before just be careful if they are off the lead and your near the cliff edge as dogs who like to chase things like birds will keep o running not realising that they could run off the edge of the cliff which would be awful. So if you need somewhere to go even if you haven't got dogs and it's a lovely place to take your kids especially if they have push bikes and if you carry on walking around eventually it will take you down to...
Read moreWhat an amazing place! By far the most beautiful beaches and coastline of anywhere i have seen in England. Crystal clear estuary at Salcombe with golden sandy coves all shaded by a wonderful canopy of woodland. Stunning! The ferry across the estuary and then the coastal walk up to Gara Rock was one of the finest walks i have experienced. Breathtaking all the way from the woodland walk over the sandy coves below up the dramatic Gara Rock. What a place to have lunch! Make sure you book. Is expensive but some of the finest seafood I have eaten anywhere in the world! The messy crab hotpot was to die for! Walk back down to the ferry was a shorter but no less delightful stroll through woodland back down to the wonderful Mill Bay Cove. Couldn't recommend this entire area enough! Just don't recommend taking large motorhomes anywhere near this area. Roads are very tight for...
Read moreThis really has to be one of the most beautiful places in the UK, with its rolling hills stretching across miles of farmland and sandy beaches, incorporating one of the world's top surfing beaches, Bantham. There is also the moors where one can camp freely for a night or two. It is an unspoilt area and although it attracts a lot of visitors each year, has remained uncommercialised. When you look deeper than the surface, you may realise that this area is home to some of the most beautiful, good-natured, friendly, caring, compassionate people. If you come across an impatient driver you can be sure that they are not from the local area. There is a sense of real community in the towns and villages which makes life rich - humanity at its best. This area has been rightfully named an 'area of outstanding...
