First the pros, the actual track is a good layout and is fairly enjoyable (if you have a working kart) and the staff are very nice people. Now the cons first off they wouldnât let me use my gloves bit confused by that as they are fia standard also it was expensive for what you actually get I feel like Iâve been mugged really, now for the karts, all the karts seamed very different I was personally using kart 18 and it was notably slower than all the other karts I know this because I had people come up to me after to say did you have your throttle fully on I said yes and they replied with âreally everybody was going a lot quicker through this bendâ and Iâve been racing karts for 2 years now so it was very noticeable too me therefore I really think this track should invest in new karts it would make it so much better especially as they are ancient one more thing they had a bonfire right next to the track behind the barrier at first I went past it and thought a kart was on fire then I noticed it wasnât a kart it was just some boxes and stuff I was still baffled because why in the world would you have a bonfire so close to a petrol go kart track, the flames got very tall and it got very Smokey my helmet still stinks of burnt cardboard. So in conclusion if your new to karting and want to do outdoor itâs great go for it, if your a bit more experienced like myself then I would give this one a miss I paid 26 pounds in total and had a 5 minute practice and 8 minute race and all the karts are just crappy...
Read moreIf you are a fan of fun karting, do not come to coast 2 coast. Marshalls on the day we went where just plain rude, i went on a day where the track was wet, naturally people where spinning, including myself. For context, i came with a friend and my dad as well as another group of 4/5 i think, we had a warm up and then a random grid start race.
I was 2nd from the back at the start of the race and by the end of the first lap i was 2nd, now let me make this very clear, i had not made contact with one other driver on the track. 2nd lap i overtook for first place (still not making contact) but then spun and went into a barrier. As the marshall helped me get back on track he told me i was on my last warning, after asking what for he lifted my visor, said i was driving âtoo fast in these conditionsâ that i was âputting staff at dangerâ then said i was âdriving like a dickheadâ i even tried to explain i wasnt trying to argue but he just shouted at me more. I still dont know what it was i actually did wrong. They also kept slowing my kart down, even when i was driving by myself minding my own business.
In the briefting we were constantly encouraged to be competitve and overtake in the race while being respectful and sensible which is exactly what i did. So coast 2 coast is not for you if you enjoy actual karting. If u enjoy long waiting times, being shouted at and called names then yes this is the...
Read moreWaited 30 mins for our children to race (due to race at 2pm asked to attend at 1.30pm, nobody even told us anything until I approached the reception desk at 1.55pm apart from completing a basic form) only to be informed that because they have additional needs (adhd and asd) they would need a doctors letter to go on the track. To say I have 2 very upset children is an understatement. Not impressed and would recommend the managers /owners etc check BEFORE chilldren attend. There was no disclaimer when we arrived just a small green A6 form with Name.... Dob.... Postcode.... Parent signature. Also wasn't rude and did not raise my voice at all I explained our situation and even stated "sorry for the urgency but you understand?" to which you replied "I completely understand" I have an access card which states my son is unable to wait for periods of time and happy to share this at any time. We have never had an issue at any race track and regularly attend rye Park where we have never had an issue. Extremely defensive, untrue and fabrication of the facts as they happened in your reply which you've now deleted. Thankfully ATV quad biking were much more accommodating and I would highly recommend...
