Ruined chapel that once formed part of the lost village of Stanton St Gabriel, a small rural community hidden in a hollow a short distance from Golden Cap. The chapel dates back to around the 12th or 13th century, and survived until the mid 20th century. At this time a new church was constructed in a nearby village, leaving the old chapel abandoned. Today the ruin adds a bit of historical interest to a very scenic walk from Langdon Hill. An information board is provided explaining more about its history.
