Nice enough walk. It is part or the national cycle path though and gets quite busy with bikes riding up and down. Best to keep your dog on a lead. Seen plenty of animals, birds on this route. Bats at night. Herons and Cormorants are often seen by the water. Also have seen the odd deer, fox and hedgehogs in the surrounding woodland.

Small area, but good for butterflies, moths, lots of apple trees, herons on old railway bridge, could do with some management especially of the trees, an information board about it's history and what you can see now and also more benches, Ring necked parakeets about

If you don't feel like driving far but want to stretch your legs, breath some fresh air and rest your mind, why not enjoy Mersey Vale nature park that's especially great in the evening when birds sing sunset songs?

Great nature park, nice walk (if the weather is good) The Mersey Vale Nature Park is a great walk for you or the whole family. I regularly visit with my wife and son who enjoys the freedom to roam free! There are no spots to buy food or drink some come equipped. There are numerous spots to break off the nature path and have a picnic. I would not the path and particularly walk along the river mersey are far more enjoyable when the sun is shining. There are always dog walkers, runners, families and couples so safe at all times and overall a nice place to be. I would highly recommend a visit, the parking is street and...

Locally the many tracks and paths are known & enjoyed by dog walkers, cyclists and walkers. However do not discount to visit and enjoy both the river Mersey which you can follow back out of this area to its birth in the centre of Stockport where the river Goyt and Tame merge, industrial heritage from the railway lines which crisscrossed this area, You can create circular walks, walk out a short way and find cafes, pubs etc. In the main the paths are good and in my opinion worth a little research to have several enjoyable hours...

Beautiful nature park next to river mersey. Nice little green oasis in Greater Manchester. We'll designed tracks for cycling and walking. Beautiful place if you are into bird watching. Park is safe. The farm next to it has horses, kids always love to watch them. Fishing spots for the enthusiasts. Open all year round. Transpenine cycling track adjacent. Suitable...
