A write this as I'm chilling by the fire place enjoying my final night.||We decided to try our glamping and we wasn't disappointed with Cherry Tree. We booked though booking.com and found out shortly after that we would be staying in the Bumblebee Lodge. ||The lodge itself is basic and I mean basic, but that's all part of the experience I say! You get everything you need to have a decent level of comfort. A fully stocked kitchen and bathroom with all the amenities you need to cook and clean, my only gripe here was the microwave/grill combi was pretty pants, but it's a very small criticism. The bed was comfy but a tad on smaller side for a couple, again a very small criticism. There's a small fire place which does a brilliant job of keeping the lodge warm but electric heaters are also provided. Do bare in mind, there's no WiFi on site or TV provided, so bring your own gadgets and entertainment. You can also find some board games and books to read in the lodge.||The main attraction of the lodge has to be the hot tub which is well maintained, clean and an excellent way to relax come rain or shine. It runs at an excellent temperature and was lovely to soak in. Although, I did found ours to be heavily chlorinated.||Upon arrival, you're greeted to a small hamper of welcome snacks and food and some firewood to last you, I believe around 24 hours. A wonderful touch I thought. We also purchased a load of additional extras (extra fire wood, bbq stuff, dressing gowns etc) which you will find on your personal booking page sent to you prior to your booking. I would personally recommend the breakfast hamper as the ingredients are locally sourced and delicious.||Danni, the site manager is on site 24/7 for any assistance or advice. You can also order any extra bits though her as well. I also found Annika, who's the owner I believe, very helpful as well. She was my main source of communication for our booking and was very helpful with any questions we had.||The location itself just off the main road, not too far away from Stroud. Just bare in mind, there are no shops nearby so bring your own stuff with you or if you don't drive, get a grocery shop delivered like we did (Sainsbury's deliver, Tesco don't). You can also get ubereats, deliveroo etc as well to camp but bare in mind, due to the location, you will wait around an hour. In terms of public transport, well there isn't. Although uber and local taxis is available, but as with the delivery companies, expect a wait. It took us less than 30 mins to get from Gloucester transport hub to the camp via uber.||Walking is the main thing to do in the area with loads of walks and hiking routes nearby. I would recommend going to Painswick via car or taxi. I proposed my girlfriend here at the beacon. It was absolutely beautiful. ||Overall a brilliant weekend, capped of with a stunning proposal at Painswick Beacon. I would highly recommend...

Read moreWe planed a lovely trip to the Cotswolds ! We really wish we had read the reviews before leaving and booking .. The campsite is just a field with no hard pets so this time of year quite hard to navigate round without getting everything completely muddy.. The shower and toilet cables definitely are in need of repair. The showers were cold and the pressure coming out was very weak.!! We tried a few times to make contact with the site via email and via telephone. We eventually got an email back saying that the manager would look into the showers the second night we stayed the showers were a little bit warmer but still very poor… The flooring in the shower block is very spongy. I gave you the feeling that you’re going to fall through it.!!!! After the end of our weekend, we decided to go and wash all of our pops up in the washing facility area next to the toilets.. Not only was the pressure week as well in the tap there was no plug to fill the sink and also the electronic water heater was leaking water from the rear of it.. Most things in the camping world we can all get used to and put up with a make do unfortunately paying this sort of money for a campsite and not even be able to take a nice shower or wash the pots up. I find a little bit hard to chew. !!! I’m sure in the summer this campsite would be wonderful and a cold shower would be a pleasure but unfortunately at 4° temperature in the shower was very much needed .. One more small thing to know which is not important, but as we’re on the subject, I went over to the information shed which also had panels of wood missing and all the leaflets were wet inside and it looked like nobody have been in there for a long time, certainly an uncared for area!! Again, this doesn’t affect the actual camping, but I thought I would mention it as a whole package … We’re sorry if this feels that it’s a bad review however it’s an honest review for other people to read and see what they’re...
