Jaywick Beach is a broad stretch of soft sand, about a mile west of the main resort of Clacton-on-Sea. It usually remains quite secluded despite the close vicinity of Clacton Pier where it often becomes overcrowded as soon as the weather turns favourable. Jaywick Beach actually has the softest sand of this entire stretch of coastline, so well worth the walk out from Clacton-on-Sea for the experience of an almost unspoilt beach. 'Almost', because since the construction of the fishtail groins, much of the sandy beach has been encroached by spiky grasses & other prickly plants. Don't allow the populist media reputation of 'Jaywick' to put you off visiting. Jaywick Beach is a pleasant & quiet, family friendly stretch of the Essex coast.

Jaywick Beach is one of the cleanest, prettiest shores I have visited, it has large sandy coves, with strandlines of shells, seaweed and pebbles, it is incredibly clean and great for finding fossils, also a breakwater where the green shore crabs can be caught, No ice cream vans or shops on the beach itself but treats and souvenirs available from shops within a few minutes walk. Look past the salt bleached buildings and see the gem this area really is.

Scenery was absolutely phenomenal, couldn’t get enough of the breathtaking views and beautifully done houses close by. If I could I would move into the neighbourhood close by in a heartbeat. Not to mention the fantastic and lovely residents of the area. Helped my disabled child get unstuck from the sand on the beach itself, 10/10 would recommend to any foreigner Lovely seaside, smells delightful
