Blaen Bran Reservoir — Local services in Upper Cwmbran

Great if you love hiking and exploring nature. Steep, usually muddy hills and very very steep, to an unsafe extent if you choose to go to the top. Although the view at the top is worth it when you get there - But I would definitely advise you wear wellingtons/waterproof boots while there. The reservoir is beautiful and scenic, and fills up with water in certain seasons. Great for swimming in the summer. Wildlife tends to dwell in the water, especially frogs and frogspawn. Great place to walk the dog, brilliant photos to be taken here if your in to your photography. if you keep walking to the top of the mountain, it does get a bit steep towards the top near the pilons but the views are well worth it spanning across all of cwmbran. Very quiet place to walk the dog sometimes you won't see anyone but others you will all depends on what time you visit. There's free parking here which is a bonus. One of my fav places surrounded by blaen bran only let down there's no bins and I feel the council could easily solve this it's not to far away for a collection. As a result there is alot of rubbish and alot of broken Glass which spoils the rustic feel of the place. Look past that though and it's a lovely location for your dogs to have a Dip when your trailing the forest. Just be aware...
