This is a genuine and honest review of my experiences and short life membership of fusion. Upon joining the gym I noticed the gym had little to no staff. My first bad experience was walking into the male changing rooms and the overwhelming smell of sewage was incredible, (I notified staff on many occasions) I was attending every evening around 4-7 depending on what time I finished work during the week and variable times during the weekend. I would consider these peak hours. There was equipment left all over the floor, machines were dirty and covered in sweat, the floor was dirty and the whole place had condensation on the floors, walls and mirrors, the swimming pool area also smelt of sewage, and doors were hanging off the hinges on changing rooms, there were holes looking into the adjacent changing cubicals, the turn styles werenât working, the water dispenser wasnât working, the air con was broken or working to such a low capacity it made no effect on the ambient temperature, the list goes on! This went on the whole time I was a member, I started noticing about 2 months into my membership I started becoming extremely fatigued whilst training and the following days I would feel unwell, (sick, cold like Symptoms) I didnât go for a while to allow myself to get better, but every time I used the gym after I was better I felt as though I was getting unwell again, as I am not a sickly person and am of genuine good health this was the only variable so i decided to cancel my membership. That was over a year ago! The past few months I have been seeking for a gym in the area So I decided to give fusion another try! To my absolute shock absolutely nothing has changed! In fact it was worse, the smell in the male changing rooms is still there, the water dispenser wasnt working, there were no paper towels in the gym, the air con wasnât working, there was condensation all over the floor and someone had put a sign in the middle of the gym saying wet floor! I used the equipment and I found (in the weights area) that all over the bars and ropes had a film of filth and grimm over. It was absolutely disgusting! So to summarise this... I noticed one of your reviews below to which I read the replie from âthe ownerâ I thought the response to the lady was rude. I personally think a 1 star review is completely fair. I personally wouldnât even give it that. Iâd really like to hear your response to all of those things I have just listed off as Iâm curious to why a year after I left still nothing has been done about any of the issues? Because I made sure you guys were aware of all of my concerns by voicing them and writing them down in the suggestion box you have there. Clearly your not listening to your customers and ignoring basic health and safety guildlines. I can see that the building is very dated and the wear and tear is more than likely becoming to much for you to manage but I believe fusion has the potential to be an amazing gym. I would also like to state that I know from speaking to people you are struggling to hold your members for more than 3 months and the reasons for this are exactly the same as the ones Iâm stating above. I find this really sad because if this issues were corrected Iâd be more than happy to become a member again. Judging from your response to the lady in the other review Iâm sure your more than likely to take this as a personal attack on yourself but this is a voice you should listen too as this is the reality and the truth. Letâs hope this helps you and your...
Read moreThere are some pleasant staff here and the facilities have had some investment, but itâs an average leisure centre at best.
Swimming has not returned to its pre-covid timetable and needs to be booked.
The gym gets very busy at peak times as you might expect, but the claustrophobia on those occasions is made worse by the imposing decor in the area with a low ceiling, and the way equipment is laid out so that you feel youâre on display when using the treadmills in the middle of the room. Young people are also now allowed in for âjunior gymâ sessions with adults.
Some machines can be out of order and awaiting repair for several months.
Signs politely ask you spend no longer than 20 minutes on cardio equipment. Make of that what you will.
I do wish theyâd do later opening rather than earlier mornings twice a week too, but if youâre an early bird I guess thatâs a bonus for you.
Itâs great that itâs being used and is a community resource, but it feels like the numbers are increasing whilst the facilities are...
Read moreI don't even think this is a swimming pool that can be used any more by the local community. Customers cannot access the building without an app on their phone or access to a website, an email address, or a working debit card to pay online. Quite rude and dismissive staff on reception picking up the telephone if you call and ask for help that just direct you to an app and try and get you off the phone as quickly as possible. Was told the swimming pool was only open to children for 1 hour that day (week day when everyone else is at work) and we would need to make a booking online by setting up an account anyway which we couldn't do. Couldn't care less about serving the customers. Feels like fusion fitness company has taken the leisure centre from the community and won't let the...
