My partner, our 2 young children & I went to Ruswarp for a really lovely day out about a month or so ago.. we visited the tea rooms, the mini railway & the row boats all of which were absolutely excellent!.. our 2 years old little girl started to need the loo whilst we were on the boat but she had managed to squeeze it in, however she was becoming increasingly desperate given her age, once we got off I ran her over the road & asked very politely if my 2 year old my use the toilet as she was desperate to be told no, I explained she is only young, not long out of nappies & she would definitely have an accident if she didn't go right away.. the lady (she didn't act like much of one) was furious, exclaiming it's for paying customers only!... I couldn't belive what I was hearing I asked her about where her compassion was for a small child, to which she said not my problem.. my family actually had full intentions of going there when the weather's not as nice as we only live down the road. She then followed me down the bank ranting how there's a toilet 100m or so down the road & that the boats should provide me with a toilet.. all the while I was asking her to leave us alone but she kept following us like some deranged person. How someone like this, with that lack of care & compassion for a 2 year old is working or running a children's play center it's beyond me!! I'm sure you'll remember who I am unless you regularly chase people...
Read moreWe have visited this place for a number of years whilst on holidays . Was very disappointed on how the place has changed over the years , it’s sticks out unfortunately that profit margin is the only thing to increase and not the customer service / Satisfaction . We have 3 boys 15 , 11, and 4 , obviously the 15 year old did not want to run around and play but was charged £2.50 for the pleasure to sit and watch his two brothers play, and he was repeatedly warned by staff if he went in the play area he would be charged . We bought our youngest the picnic plate (£6.50 pic included ) I would not serve this to my dog tbh , probably cost 20p to knock up by a child member of staff . The chocolate bar was already unwrapped , alarm bells ringing , is this because it’s an Aldi special ? Carrots not even peeled , 2 and a bit slices , 5 pieces of pasta , rubbish quality bread roll …….. The play area is nice and always has been but very pricey for what it is . Yes we have to make profit in business but I think the owner of this place needs to have a strong look at...
Read moreWe visited in the Summer with my wife and 3 little kids (5 and under). It was the week it never stopped raining so we parked at the bottom of the hill in the car park and I left the wife/kids in the car whilst I jogged to reception.
I waited 5 minutes at reception to ask if they had space and was told it would be an hour - understandable.
Ran back down the hill in the rain and had to break it to the kids there was no room, put the holiday lodge in the sat nav and drove off.
We have since been charged £100 parking penalty for being in the car park for over 10 minutes (clocked at 12 minutes). The time it took me to exit the vehicle, run up the hill, wait in reception and then come back down was more than that alone.
I am told I should have registered my car for free parking at reception when asking for availability - but there wasn't any availability so it wouldn't have crossed my mind to do so.
If you have to park in a privately own car park - perhaps give more than 10 minutes for families to get...
