Room booked a Superior Double - nothing about it was superior.

Don’t go to this hotel if you want a good night of sleep. The videos wouldn’t attach - I have sent to the hotel - simply appalling.

I can understand that all hotels are going to welcome wedding guests and to which I have attended many. What I don’t understand is why there was nobody working to ensure levels of control and respect were upheld.

I was given 3 different room keys as the first room Wasn’t ready, the second room the TV didn’t work and wasn’t the room I had paid for.

I have stayed at many of your Devere Hotels including this one. Every occasion has been pleasurable and ensured I return. Not so with my most recent stay on Sunday 29th May. My high opinion of your hotel has been completely ruined.

I was kept up until 3am due to the wedding guests being out of control. Banging, insulting language, threats of fighting it all happened. There was no security working, nobody on reception. Appalling.

I travelled from Bournemouth to attend meetings nearby in Oxford today but feel so tired after virtually no sleep that I’ve had to call the afternoon ones off.

This is not acceptable, I, as do others, come to a hotel to get a good night of rest as per your hold music / tone when waiting to speak to someone. Why was this allowed to happen?

I woke to a diesel crane outside my window at a time when most people would still be in bed and your cleaners hoovering. No rest whatsoever.

I have attached videos of my experience from my room. I eventually decided to go out onto the corridor and speak to some of the wedding guests, all had bottles in their hands and looked like they wanted to cause trouble. I asked them to have respect and they carried on.

I was told by one of your colleagues I will receive a full refund and await to hear from you to discuss some level of compensation for my inability to work today.

This was a response I got from Jan - who was totally unprofessional and lacked any empathy or understanding on the phone - then I get this in response saying I have to initiate a complaint and it’s out of their hands.

Thank you for the pictures and videos attached, it will help me investigate why nothing was done at night during your stay.

I will be interviewing the nights team and finding out why, as you put it, no one was working to ensure levels of control and respect were upheld.

In regards to the refund, I've spoken to the members of staff that you had raised your complaint with and neither of them recall promising a refund, I've CC'ed them both in this email. Was it only the two members of staff you spoke with? As you booked though booking.com you'll need to request a refund from them and if approved they'll request it from us.

Please accept my deepest apologies for the inconvenience to your stay, as you know traveling with us so often, this is not a standard practise of the De Vere Hotels

If you need any further assistance please don’t hesitate to...

I really wish my wife and I could give this hotel a better review, but sadly this will not be the case. We chose to stay here on our way back up to Birkenhead for the ferry, as a way of breaking up a long journey from Folkestone. When we arrived, the car park was packed because there were two weddings on so we struggled to park. In some cases it was dangerous to even drive around the grounds as people just parked their cars anywhere they liked, even on the grass and at junctions, with no consideration whatsoever for anyone else.

Checking in was fine, but the young lady at the desk gave me very vague directions to the room, which, when we followed them, got us hopelessly lost. In the end we did find our room but the directions we took to get there were nothing like those we were given at reception. The layout of the hotel is not very straightforward and staff should be VERY specific when giving directions especially to those guests who have not stayed there before.

With our belongings safely in the room I went down to reception to find out how to book a table for dinner, only to be told that the restaurant and bar were both fully booked and there was a two hour wait for room service! We were provided with a list of local restaurants but we didn’t want to risk driving anywhere and discovering that we had nowhere to park when we returned, so we ended up ordering food through Deliveroo, which thankfully did arrive on time. I totally understand that if a hotel is hosting two weddings on a Friday night in July their catering staff will be very busy - but surely we could have been contacted by the hotel to warn us in advance so that we could have made alternative dinner arrangements? This is especially important because the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and it’s not always convenient to go out looking for restaurants!

Another issue I had was that of EV charging. The hotel offer this as a service, but when I went to find the chargers, only ONE lucky winner had been able to plug in, as all the other spaces were taken up by other people in petrol or diesel cars who had selfishly parked there. I complained to reception and was told that there was very little they could do about this. Why then have signs up about EV Charging etiquette if you don’t plan to enforce it, or are “unable” to do so? When I eventually did get a space at a charger (after about 90 minutes of waiting for someone to move) I was shocked to discover that the hotel have set the cost per kw as an extortionate £1.14! That’s about double what you’d pay at a public charger elsewhere. Not wanting to waste too much money on charging I only charged for about an hour then unplugged.

We were both really disappointed with our stay at this hotel - especially since we chose it specifically because it was a 4 star resort and we wanted to spoil ourselves! In the end our stay was spoiled by our experience and we...

De vere Wokefield estate is a great hotel for business or leisure where you can enjoy a great time with family over some outdoor activities or playing golf, or just enjoying the lovely surroundings. The whole estate has 376 rooms which are divided into 5 buildings : Wokefield Place : this is the first building that you will encounter when you will arrive, it's the conference centre of the hotel where usually the meetings are taking place but it also has a great modern design combined with nature and also is the building where the leisure facilities are like swimming pool, sauna and gym and also Golf Pro Shop. The rooms are great, confortable, with a great modern design. Mansion House: this is the second building of the hotel with a great vintage look due to it's age. It has been the first building build on the property somewhere around 1560's and it is still in a great condition. It's a great place for an private event or a wedding because it has a great old style design but modern at the same time with a lovely view over the acres and the lake. If you want to find out more about the history of the mansion house i would suggest you to go to one of the frontdesks across site and i promise you won't be dissapointed with what they will tell you. Wellington Lodge: the lodge is placed at the other end of the property which makes it a really nice place to stay if you're looking for a quiet room and no one to bother you. It's great for families because over there are bigger rooms and also you can go straight on the acres from there and a nice little walk across the estate. To be fair, the bad part of it is that is about 5-6 minutes walk from the main building where you will have to check-in, but if you look for a quiet place , you won't be dissapointed. Ivy Cottage: Which is the smallest building across the venue, it has the same look as an everyday house with some rooms that are not so big which is alright only if you come here alone. It's close to the mansion house which you can visit during your stay or just enjoy a quiet and relaxing break from the everyday routine. BMW Academy: This is the last building on Wokefield Estate. This is a training centre for people who are looking to get a job at BMW and they are coming from all over the country to this place for training. It's a really modern building where trainees are learning about the latest BMW models.

Also while you're at the venue and you play golf you can enjoy a really good game on the 18holes golf course on the site, or just the driving range, also there are some outdoor activities provided by a third party company named Unique Outdoors where you have archery, lasertag, rope sliding and all sorts of other activities.

In conclusion I would definitely reccommend this place for leisure or even for business because I promise you would have a great and relaxing...
