READ IF TAKING COSMETOLOGY
I got an associates here and wanted to get my cosmetology license while I was still enrolled. Their Cosmo program is really strict and not really suited for adults who need flexibility. It's really Ridgid and takes 6 hours of your day in class with lots of online coursework as well. It was full of teenagers in highschool and I think the instructors immediately assumed the worse and treated each student like they were little babies who were ignorant of the real world.
For this course you're required to pay an additional 1500+ for supplies each semester, and then you walk into class and are told you have even more you need to buy. Not only this but the school did not have enough for everyone despite ordering weeks in advance. This campus store in particular is run by the most flustered and rude woman who screams at students who just paid thousands for materials they can't receive. I was told my supplies were given to another student at a different campus and that I couldn't continue the program. Also the instructor I got was very aggressive and told everyone that even if someone in their family died they were not going to be excused from class... What a crazy experience those little highschool girls are being put through.
Also the parking at this campus is terrible, you have to show up at least 30 minutes early just to wait around until someone's class lets out. Love everyone else at this school but the Cosmo program needs a reassessment, there are two terrible instructors in particular and I'm pretty sure the other nice instructors know what I'm...
Read moreI have been trying to obtain a degree from this school for 5 years but at every turn they make it much harder than it should be. Financial Aid personnel is absolutely useless. They waited until 2 weeks before the final payment deadline to let me know they won't be allowing me access to the grant money I was already awarded. Administration is terrible at communicating, they either won't respond at all or they respond too late. Half the teachers don't care about teaching, they are just here to talk at students, treating them like kindergarteners, and receive a salary. I thought I was saving money by attending a 2 year school first, I was sorely mistaken. I have spent more time and money than this degree is worth. I should have bitten the bullet and gone to a 4 year school from...
Read moreCompletely unimpressed with the entire administrative staff at this school. They repeatedly lose paper work, refuse to put in any effort to fix problems that they themselves cause, and then have the audacity to treat their potential students as if they are ignorant and unwanted members of the school system. I am a 4.0 student that tried to transfer from Georgia Highlands College to this second rate college for 8 consecutive months with nothing but problems from the staff.....I would recommend finding ANY other establishment rather than the North...
