So I've read a fair amount of the reviews. I shop in antique malls fairly often. The people who walk around with keys are almost always dealers who are working off their rent. When you hear them cough, almost ALL the time they do that to let the patrons know where they are. Are they following you because they think you are going to steal? No. They are just trying to make sure they are nearby so they can help you if they can.
Regarding the cell service. It's flat out atrocious in the Mad Hatter, and there's no wifi (that's why it's four stars, not five). However, I found a spot where I could not only get calls, I was able even download email. If you walk in the front door and go straight back, there's a case with china in it. Take a right in that aisle and three cases to the right is my spot.
As for the guy who left one star and said there was nothing but junk, well, he must be nearsighted and left his glasses at home AND been looking at his shoes the entire time in the shop. Besides all the Pyrex and primitives, I've seen military medals in the hundreds of dollars range; Halloween decorations from the 1800's; some fantastic first edition books, and I could keep going.
This is a co-op. Things are constantly being added and removed by the dealers, and purchased. If you are looking for something specific, call the shop. If they don't think they have it there is a good chance that they'll refer you to another...

I would hardly call this an antique mall. Pretty small compared to many others in the state I cannot express how annoying it is to be followed by a staff with keys. I really do not know what her intentions were if you thought I was going to steal or if you wanted me to buy something and you were just on stand by if I needed a case open? Regardless I prefer not to be followed. And if you wanted me to buy something you could have said hello I'm here if needed, something along those lines. Positive side very clean and nice selection. But very overpriced! We won't be back. Will stick with my regular...
Read moreNot a bad shop overall but what was a real turn off was one lady behind the counter complaining so loudly that I could hear her in the back of the store about the fact that the rent was going up and she was complaining about the owner and complaining about not being part of a co-op and threatening to move her merchandise elsewhere. There were also three or four men that were walking around the store that I felt like were lurking over my shoulder watching me constantly as if I was going to steal something and then when I did buy one item at the checkout the lady was really rude. So although this store has good merchandise, I don't know if I would return just based off of the way I was treated by...
